Re: Original X-Wing engine rebuilt project

How is the main engine coming along for reading .tie mission files?

Re: Raider Corvette

One reason I can think of for vertex count increase is that to have flat shading or a crease they need to be separate vertices. if 2 faces share a vertex then it will smooth shade which is good for spheres and cylinders but not for cubes and hexagons etc.

Re: Mandal Motors (Hutt Fighters) mega-post

Cool, heh, I guess had I downloaded and read the readme I would have found that, my bad.
Yeah, don't get me wrong, porting isn't easy but I just wasn't sure if these were yours or not at the time.

Re: Mandal Motors (Hutt Fighters) mega-post

You keep saying "port", do you actually mean that and if so what game do they actually come from? If they are built by yourself I would not say port since to port something means to convert from one game/console to another.

Re: Episode 8 Discussion (SPOILERS)

First thoughts - Brilliant film. However I do have my nitpicks, but I think others have pretty much covered them. I still think that the biggest mistake was Ep7 with Star Killer Base and the terminology used. Ep8 fixes the terminology part mostly. By Terminology I mean "First Order" and "Resistance"...

Re: Original X-Wing engine rebuilt project

oh my, I have no idea how I managed to miss this for so long. I caught a glimpse of the latest gameplay vid which directly followed the new vid by Kiarand of the updated XWA effects and WOW, I'm so looking forward to seeing this evolve. Don't get me wrong, Id love to see the original XWA Engine push...

Kenobi's Diary: ... Day 2421, I walked along the dunes, its hot. Day 2422, I felt a disturbance in the force, found a young jedi, killed Maul after all these years. Seen luke. Day 2423, Slept in, had sand in my shoes. Day 2424, Went to Mos Eisly for a drink .... Yeah, great spin-off :lachtot: haha, ...

Re: STAR WARS Eisode VII: The Force Awakens

Since this topic is revived, I wonder if anyone else noticed the error with the New X-Wing engines? While in Space, clearly the intakes do nothing, however in atmosphere, how do the impellors work in the engines? The designer of the T70 really didn't think about that, he simply put a knife through t...

Windows 10 0xc0000022 error

Anyone know how to fix this?

Some have said this is related to anti-virus but even disabling that does not fix the problem.

I copied the files from my 98 install and then upgraded DSUCP to latest but before and after still has the same problem.

Re: X-wing Alliance VR?

Wow, yeah, Id love to see a vid with the mouse/scroll lock thing as just now the vid only shows a rotation within fixed screen. Also, Ideally you need to increase the FOV to match what you can see at the edges of the screen. i.e. the edges seem to be 90 degrees but I believe the default game is abou...

Re: The Force Awakens discussion thread (spoilers)

Im with DTM on this, Good movie, but its just a facelift of Episode IV. Everything is the "same" but not. The only extras it has is that Han and leia have a kid, and he kills Han. Where is Yoda and Obi-Wan? From what I have learned from the Canonical source of the Clone Wars, the final episode shows...

X2, and don't get me started on the whole scrapping of the EU and the Mary sue that Rey is. Hmm? What do you mean? I liked it with George at the helm, The only critisism I have of his direction was to direct Star Wars toward children. I loved Eps 1-3 but they could have used a little more violence ...

Haha yeah, analize the crap out of it :P

"Artoo woke up because BB-8 told him he was there with the rest of the map when they "meet" before the attack on Starkiller Base. It just took him all that time to wake up again."

hahaha, poor R2... he must have been tired.

Re: X-wing Alliance VR?

Actually, you wouldnt have that 'problem', but instead an in-accuriacy. The target would be stuck to the front and therefor would hit anything directly under the dot, the inaccuriacy comes from the fact that as perseptive beings, we would assume a line from where we are through the dot to a target a...

Re: X-wing Alliance VR?

To be honest, 2dof is better than nothing. You could set a really wide resolution and high FOV angle then as someone stated above, post-process the output into the VR headset. Alternativly you can get 'some' 6dof by taking the output and sphere-mapping it. Then you could move your head within the sp...

Re: Z-95-4 X-Wing

That looks just like the T70 with the engines halved like that and its very, very similar to the T65... Surely the development cycle would class the additional split-wing as a fork of the Z series, giving birth to the T series... otherwise why is the x-wing the T-65 and not just Z-96? I guess the wr...

Re: Rogue Squadron II Models (Proof of Concept)

I had no idea that Rogue Squadron II had such nice models. I used to think that the original had good models, but I took a closer look and realised they were about on par with XWA. Textures are actually well done on the N64 considering its limited to 2KB (64x64x4, 64x32x8 etc) usable texturespace (U...

Wow, sounds great. "For 2 player co-op the original singleplayer campaign .tie can be used with the hack without being touched." So, simply copy the campaign missions into the skirmish folder and load XWA, go to multi pod and select single mission? You mentioned a "New found GUI " so, the multi play...

Re: Hidden Campaign Co-op mode in XWA!

I had a look on the net for more info... it seems its still an alt-tab hack replacing temp.tie?

If this is a new hack to actually avoid doing this, can you confirm this?
