Well rumor has it that after Solo bombed badly at the box office no more spin-offs are going to be made for the time being.
Oh good. This means that Mangold doesn't have to worry about Boba Fett so he can focus on X-23, instead.

Ewoks movies and holiday special wasn't episodes... i think they are not even canon.
Ep 7 and 8 was still worst than ewoks movies, and there's no way to fix it.
The old cast was just a parody of themself, and the new ones have no interest.
Rey is too perfect, don't even need a master...she defeat Ren and Luke without training (defeated 2 trainned Skywalkers being less than a padawan !!) omg...
The guys was cowards, reckless, traitors and clumsy... the girls was just "perfect"...and the first order wasn't better, most of time they was riddiculous, it's a slap to any fan.
They try to impose an ideology using star wars (anticapitalism at the casino and feminism all the time), that's why so many of us are doing boycot.
Solo and Rogue one also had that (women supremacy), not so strong, but there it is.
Star wars allways was the story of Skywalkers...and the fight between good and evil.
Now they try to change it...to "balance"...seriously??
The evil must be defeated, not balanced.
There are many wrong things in the new canon.
I'll save rogue one and Solo.
Me and many ppl would preffer Anthony Ingruber for Han Solo (another slap to fans) but it's ok...i'll save Solo cause Ron Howard is good.

Now they try to blame fan's boycot saying that "no more spin off movies".
It's fun.
The problem are not the spin off movies, not even the boycot.
The problem is disney's sick ideology agenda and their arrogance against fans.
They called us nazis, homophobic, machist, etc... !!! LOL i never had any problem with Jar Jar, Lando, Leia or Padme.

The boycot was a success cause only a minority supports this new canon.
It's the same reason why Trump won.
There's many people tired of politically correct inquisition, and it's only the beginning.
I have forseen the same will happen with marvel and dc.
We had a black Nick Fury, a black Valkirye, black asgardians...why not a blonde black panther with blue eyes?
It's all so riddiculous...
Solo was good, not the best, but i liked much more than Rey's movies.
The real reason of boycot are Rey's movies and the ideology they try to impose.

If this is the state of people these days, who try to rationalise a fictional film franchise to make any sense out of it, instead of getting on and enjoying there own life, I feel sorry for the generations to come!

Fanboys, ffs grow up, get laid and get a life! :irre:

Wow, I haven't used this in AGES.

Now I mostly lurk/skim, but I've been seeing a LOT of fandom communities turning toxic over politics these days. You can like the movie or not (frankly, I was "meh" about it, and I object to a LOT of Rian Johnson's choices in TLJ. Particularly his intent to deconstruct a reconstructionist heroic fantasy) but from now on I'd strongly suggest keeping politics out.

Unless we're talking about the plot of Episode I, which for the life of me I can't imagine why we would...

They've been pretty quick to try and shoot down that rumour; must be difficult, with their turbolasers arcing through space... :tv:

I wish to have a conversation about the taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems.

We're good, there's a tariff of 25% of all profits made on the major hyperspace lanes. How else do you think all the recent Imperial opts are being funded? ;)

Disney cannot blame the fans calling us toxic, it's like call toxic the old triology and precuels.
It's ovbious they try to divide us to win.
It's the old fans who have keep star wars alive, not disney...this page is a huge example.
I feel hurt cause it's a saga that i love since kid, a moral refference...almost a religion, not just a movie.

EDIT: You were fine up until this point. I warned you once I'm not going to tolerate seeing this community ripped apart by the Left/Right political BS I see everywhere else. Do NOT make me do this again. - Sax

He's passionate, I'll give him that :/

Anyway what boycott? All I know is that numbers where way down from projections. This is probably due to a few factors:

1. Big competition. With many people only occasionally attending the theatre and competition like Deadpool 2 and Infinity Wars, a lot of people are passing on Solo.

2. Public production issues. Informed movie goers know this movie went through production hell and that is usually never a good sign for a films reception.

3. Franchise fatigue. Star Wars used to be a special event. But the quick succession of TFA, Rogue One, TLJ and now Solo, people don't feel the need to see every single Star Wars release. I for one never went to see Rogue One or TLJ.

4. Mediocre reviews. It's not a terrible film, but it's also not a must see, keeping people at home or going to see something else.

5. This one's highly contested online, but TLJ drove a strong wedge in the fan base and killed a ton of enthusiasm for the franchise for a sizeable demographic of what were previously long time Star Wars fans.

Solo wasn't Boycootted lmao. There was just poor advertising and interest.

Solo got more positive fan reviews then TLJ I think.

ONCE MORE AGAIN because someone apparently can't listen:

This political crap is turning enough other online communities toxic, and I am not going to tolerate it here. Like the movie. Don't like the movie. Boycott the movie, watch the movie. Whatever. You can call it draconian if you like, but I've had enough of it. Any more political posts along that track are going to be deleted.

My moderator powers say, "Yes."

(I refuse to finish the quote. :-P)

I don't WANT to do it, but this community has been kicking around for over 20 years and I'm not about to watch it torn apart by the same political bickering that's making it just plain not fun to be ANYWHERE these days. Which means I'm nipping it in the bud before it even gets started.

Nah, this time I'm just liking Sax's decision. :D There is NO place on this forum for politics, if people want to talk about that stuff then they can on the appropriate website, but NOT this one!

Politics I can stand, but fluffy kittens on this site, that's just too much.

I thought Solo was OK, a bit of a romp.

Rogue One however, well....I was right back in 1977. The spine tingle I got at the end, watching the plans for the original Death Star being handed over, and the final shot...some of the best cinema I have ever witnessed. DS, spend an evening in front of the BluRay - time well spent!
