The TIE Oppressor, officially known as the Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Oppressor Strike Fighter, was a variant of the TIE Series of starfighters that was deployed in limited numbers among selected units of the Imperial Navy's starfighter cadre. The craft was introduced into combat shortly after the Battle of Yavin.

I loved flying this ship in SWG. It was pretty much the only fighter that was anywhere near the standard of the ships the Rebels had.

Great job!

Too bad I never played Galaxies. I wish I could have flown these post-Yavin TIEs.
I would be curious to know what are the stats of the TIE Oppressor, in particular its speed in MGLT.
It is classified as a bomber, but the atmospheric speed (1450 km/h) is higher than that of the TIE Aggressor (1100 km/h), which is considered a superiority Starfighter.

The source for the atmospheric speed is Rebellion Era Campaign Guide (2009), which is a later source than Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed (2004).

The TIE Aggressor is much more similar to the TIE Advanced x1, so it makes sense it's also more fighter superiority oriented than TIE Oppressor, no matter the source.

Okay, so there is apparently an issue with the cockpit opt for some reason. I've had two people mention that the cockpits for the Aggressor and the Oppressor eventually crash the game.

I have thus far not been able to replicate this issue myself, and looking at the vertex counts they are all well within 4096 per mesh.

This is a perplexing issue since the exterior files use almost identical cockpit meshes discounting the interior glass supports removed since you can't see them from outside. Thing is, I opted the cockpit before the exterior file and both should be having the same issue, but they're not. Short of starting completely from scratch, I can't fix the issue since I can't figure out what the source of the problem is.

If you experience any crashes, I recommend for the time being, using DS' TIE Fighter cockpit opt and rename it to TIEAggressorcockpit/TIEOppressorcockpit

One individual stated that the game only crashes inside the Hangar, and that inflight the ship works fine.

Cockpit crash related issue has been resolved.

Cockpit POV z pos needs to be set to 15. Will update .shp file soon.
