The official website also has a list of directors

We'll see where this goes. I'm not a huge fan of Mandalorians, personally.

While I agree on the first sentiment you expressed, and am skeptical given the direction the latest movies have taken myself, the second can be summed up with a single picture.

Looks awfully similar to some of the concept art from 1313

Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

It depends how they go about it, though. The Mandalorians in the Kotor were quite interesting, the later TCW/Rebels ones less so.

Seems weird that their first image of a live action show is a CGI render.

The tcw ones were socialist, pacifist, wimps unfit to bear the title "mandalorian". Satine while admirable in her sense of duty, was frankly a disgrace to her ancestors. Ironically, as much as I don't believe the Deathwatch acted with the honor they should have, were correct in their overall stance regarding their internal politics and how Mandalore would fall prey to outside forces as a result of Satine's policies.

And never mind allowing themselves to be controlled by Maul of all people. The tcw mandalorians are frankly, pathetic high minded losers.

It seems rebels era protectors had the right mindset, though unfortunately sided with the wrong side, and yet again fell under heel to another galactic super power, though I'll admit out of necessity to avoid being crushed out of hand due to their willful independence.

I would be interested to find out how they fared post rebellion against the empire, and whether or not the clans got things going in the right direction.

Perhaps the new show will explore post GCW mandalorian culture. And I'd be interested to see how Sabine and Bo Katan rallied their people against the empire since they were facing ahnialation. Iccsnt say I ever heard of any continuation of or even follow up on that story arc.

Hmmmm... I also wonder if this pictures suit of armor has anything to do with the one seen in episode 7...

Well seeing how disney likes to create complete story arcs about minor background items (Looking at you, Solo) I‘m sure there is a connection.

That's not CGI.

Jon Favreau posted a picture of a rifle on his Instagram that appears to be inspired by Boba's rifle from the Holiday Special
