It's almost Star Wars day so ofc all the games are on sale again!
I've picked up a few over time but thinking of getting a few more now.
Do half of them even work these days? It took some effort to make the X-wing ones work. I don't want to waste my money.
Looking at things like Rogue Squadron or Shadows of the Empire etc.
Is there any real advantage or buying them from Steam or GoG? I like to try and keep games together and Steam is cheaper.

Does XWA work fine for the Origin version too? I doubt it's needed.
The stupid thing is I'm sat here and the original CD's of many of the games are right in front of me lol I doubt most would even work now on Windows 10.
Anyone else find they are hoarding things from the past? I need room but also can't bring myself to ditch them yet.

If possible I'd always go with GOG. With them you get a DRM free version that will always work once you downloaded it. No launcher needed, no account that is linked to the game.
Plus GOG is really good in getting older games to run on new machines.

I was reading some forums about some of the games.
You still need to jump through so many hoops to get them working well, even Rogue Squadron.
I might just get some gradually as I have been so I can access them in the future.
Think I'll grab some of my CD versions and mess with those. Does the same job.
The Phantom Menace never seemed to get re-released. Not a great game but was kinda fun

I was reading some threads there that they needed to download some fixes.
Maybe they were just updates for improvements.
Also today the original Star Wars: Battlefront now has Steam multiplayer support again
