[EDITED]

I've been reading this forum for the last 3 hours, and I can't find any solutions to my problem.

I'm having a problem where in any mission, when i have it set on hardware mode, i see nothing out in space. I see my HUD, and i see a starfield, and a couple of planets. Some nice lense flare effects on a distant sun. but i dont' see any models. Not my cockpit/ship, nor other ships, space stations, cargo containers. ODDLY ENOUGH, if i hit T to target something, i see it on my HUD, i full D3D detail, but not actually on the screen in front of me. Please, i beg you.. help me!

I'm in windows 7 x64. i have an Nvidia 9600 GT, and running 2.02 version of the game.

I have run xwahacker.exe, patched for 16 bit mode, which worked. 32 bit mode changed the color pallete in weird ways and the cockpit was all bright pink. Anyhow, in game, at last, i can see my HUD. just not the cockput its sitting in.

So right now, i've got XWA installed, and i can only play it in software mode, which is gross. I'd really like to play in hardware mode

I have an Nvidia 9600 GT, again, Windoes 7 x64. If there are any other relevant details you need, please let me know.
To install, i used http://www.markusegger.at/ the program here.

please, i can keep reading the forums forever, but it won't let me use the search function, and i just can't seem to find anything that solves this problem.

if this has already been adressed elsewhere, please link me to the post. But I have read through pages and pages of the common problems sticky. If the patcher won't work on my xwalliance.exe then i dont' want to venture hex editing it, as it might be different.

Please please, i want to see anything at all.

I had a similiar problem and dropping a version of ddraw.dll in the Xwing Alliance folder solved things for me. You can download it here: http://www.jkhub.net/project/get.php?id=1804

Hope this solves it for you!!

Had the same problem with my ATI HD 4500.. the ddraw.ddl from the above location works a treat.

I can't believe I managed to wait 8 years to did this game up again, its still fantastic and new frills of and a modern computer kinda rock.

I have the same problem, but I cant find a fix for this. Whenever I target larger craft (storage containers, cruisers, stations, etc) using the targeting computer (T button), everything dissapears except for the HUD and targeting computer... no ships, backgrounds, etc.

I tried downloading that file, but when I dropped it into the Xwing alliance folder, nothing happened. Please advise??

I was having the same problem trying out the XWTC - things would blank out when targeting frighters or transports.

I found that replacing the ddraw file from here did the trick.

However keep in mind that as of this writing it's still a WIP so things might get wonky.

Hey, I've just finished installing the game and the craft pack. After the 2.02 installation everything was working fine, but after I installed the craft pack, I get the same problem (just a star field and HUD, no ships/cockpit/objects). I've tried the ddraw.dll fix to no avail. Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks

Have the same problem with xwaupdate 1.3. Everything was working with xwaupdate 1.2 using vmware on windows 8.1. I don't know whats is wrong with the new installation on windows 10!

UPDATE. Got it fixed! Just downloaded the latest fix for ddraw.dll at https://github.com/rdoeffinger/xwa_ddraw_d3d11/releases and put in XwingAlliance folder. Everything is Perfect!
