Whenever I use a custom resolution the starfield goes crazy as soon as I move around. When I stop moving it starts to pan/move from left to right for a second and then settles.
Any ideas on this? I've searched and found nothing.

I'm pretty sure this is FOV thing, when I use the bat to change resolutions it changes it slightly. Using non-changed resolutions with the original FOV works fine. Is there a way to edit FOV?

Here's a thread of people who are getting the same issue:

xwahacker allows you to adjust the FOV any way you like, you just have to run it by hand from the command-line and specify additional options.
If someone has the time to figure out what causes issues I am very happy to hear about it!

Ok, I decided that explaining is too much effort.
So please download version 2.4 of xwahacker and use the changefov.bat.
If it doesn't work that might be because I didn't really test this...

Thank you, it doesn't appear to work though, when I enter the new fov and check it, it remains at 86.30 rather than the 86.28 and 26.32 variables I enter.
Using 1600x1024 works for me and I get pretty decent image quality (hardly any stretching at that resolution) so this isn't particularly urgent. For what it's worth, changres sets 1600x1024 to 28.32fov. It might have something to do with it, it might not though either.

I just tested, it definitely works for me.holycraplions wrote:Thank you, it doesn't appear to work though, when I enter the new fov and check it, it remains at 86.30 rather than the 86.28 and 26.32 variables I enter.
If I start changfov, enter first "1" and then "26.32" (definitely not a recommended value) and then run changefov.bat again I get:
1: 800 x 600 mapped to 800 x 600, fov: 26.32 deg, HUD scale 1.000000 (default)
Did you maybe run changeres afterwards? Because that resets the value to the default.
28.32 just can't be right, such a small viewing angle would be extreme zoom (that is, unless I misunderstood the way these calculations are done by the game, which sure is possible).holycraplions wrote:Using 1600x1024 works for me and I get pretty decent image quality (hardly any stretching at that resolution) so this isn't particularly urgent. The default (as set by changeres) is 86.32 for me for that resolution.

Also, which was the resolution that didn't work for you?
