Okay so I am running windows 8 and the GOG version of the game.
I have recently installed the latest update for the ship pack and back drops.
I am running eyefinity.
Now when i start the game after installing the update it stretches across all 3 monitors whereas before it was just limited to the 4:3 aspect ratio.
Now i'm not so bothered about running the game widescreen so I was just wondering if there was anyway to run the game in a window so it looks good but without having to disable my eyefinity desktop each time i want to play.
I have tried editing the the target of the shortcut to add -w, -window etc etc
I have tried editing the resolution in gave which does not work
the only thing that keeps it aspect is if you force it to run 640x480 in compatibility mode but this looks worse than the original game lol
so the ideal outcome would be for a window mode or even a widescreen mode on one display.
Thanks for any input guys

Go to your XWA Dir you will see a file called DDraw.cfg
open it with a text editor
you will see
; ddraw.cfg
; config file for ddraw.dll
; PreserveAspectRatio = 0 (no) or 1 (yes)
; When set to 0, the display will be stretched.
; When set to 1, the aspect ratio will be preserved.
PreserveAspectRatio = 0
Change the line from PreserveAspectRatio = 0 to PreserveAspectRatio = 1
Do the same with the TGSmuch.cfg
; TGSmush.cfg
; config file for TGSmush.dll
; PreserveAspectRatio = 0 (no) or 1 (yes)
