Hello,
It has happened to me also.
I have completed the initial prologue missions and the 2 first Rebel Missions. Then it keeps crashing at mission loading screen.

Hello,
The crash at offset 0x000849c7 means that the game failed to load an OPT file.
Does it happen with a clean install?
You can try with only the main crafts pack. Make a backup of your pilot file before.

Please apply this hook as Jeremy said after you install if you still get this crash and try again.gordon_cree wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 8:49 pmHi Again,

According to Jeremy this should happen.gordon_cree wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 9:28 pmHello,

During the mission loading screen, if an OPT is not found, then the game crashes at offset 0x000849c7.
This WIP will show an error box before the crash with a message containing the OPT filename.
Did you get that? Also what did you do this time?
Did you do a re install from steam and apply XWUCP 1.6 only or something else

Hello,
I have not seen any "error box". Game crashes straight to desktop during loading screen.
I have re-installed this morning from Steam, and have applied XWUCP 1.6 only and have selected only default settings.
Yesterday i had downloaded and applied 1.6 plus the containers and backdrop and new OPTS.
Prologue missions worked, the first 2 rebel missions worked. Skirmishes work also.
Today i have only steam version and 1.6 installed (default options selected) and it crashes in same place.
Game works in vanilla mode without any mods.

Hello,
only the XWUCP when installed causes the KERNELBASE error.
It happens with both Intel and Nvidia graphics cards.
Ive done the SFC /scannow and has returned no errors on the KERNELBASE.dll.

Howdy all. I'm new here and hoping to get this going in VR soon. Been having the same crash on mission loading screen. Installing XWAUCP I didn't have any problems. After installing RebelDynamicCockpits_v2.1 is when I started getting the crash (no error window).

yep, thank you. just got it installed. my head movements are moving the screen at the moment instead of looking around the cockpit.Ace Antilles wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:54 pmYou need to have the Effects by Blue Max installed to use VR and the cockpits correctlySisko wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:25 pmHowdy all. For the crash, I uninstalled then reinstalled. This time I only applied RebelDynamicCockpits_v2.1 after XWAUCP and again started getting the mission loading crash. Prior I had also installed TieDynamicCockpits_v2.0 along with it. So without those two it seems to be fine on my end. I'd really like to get those going though.

I think you are being too minimal. There's so many factors that can cause the crashes.Sisko wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 4:31 pmyep, thank you. just got it installed. my head movements are moving the screen at the moment instead of looking around the cockpit.Ace Antilles wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:54 pmYou need to have the Effects by Blue Max installed to use VR and the cockpits correctlySisko wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:25 pmHowdy all. Install XWAU.
Install the Containers pack. We have been using that as a simple guide.
Then test your game.
Then install the Effects.
Then test your game.
There can be many VR issues, so you are better off configuring it and checking stuff out now.
Once you have done that then you can install the Backdrops. Then the Cockpit files.

Did you configure SteamVR tracking in CockpitLook.cfg?

I'm not trying to be minimal or do anything but explain WHEN the loading crash started happening for me. I have no doubt there may be several other factors. Just sharing my experience for info.Ace Antilles wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 6:06 pmI think you are being too minimal. (without VR) i've uninstalled and reinstalled a handful of times now just to check myself.
-Clean install, ran game and loaded mission. No crash.
-installed XWAUCP, ran game and loaded mission. No crash.
-installed RebelDynamicCockpits_v2.1, ran game, tried to load mission. It crashes about 1/5th of the way on the progress bar every time.

You need to install the Effects by Blue Max before you install the Dynamic Cockpits

Please try and follow the steps I laid out above.
If you went from XWAUCP to the RebelDynamicCockpits with nothing else then you have missed several important steps.
You missed updating the hooks and the DDraw. I appreciate that the steps to install aren't perfect and we are working on that.
If you install the XWAU then any NEW craft, ie Containers, then it will add the Hooks and the latest DDraw to the game by itself.
Then add the Effects to make VR work better.
Then add the RebelDynamicCockpits which need features from the effects to work properly.
When we get the next version of the XWAUCP ready then a lot of confusion will go away.
Hope that makes sense as I'm just trying to help in my own spare time.
