I have an issue with the cutscenes, menu, and pilot cabin scenes. The mouse moves really slow and cutscenes run slower than the sound, do it even cuts off the sound for a second and then continues. This happens only after installing XWAUP (I tried without XWAUP it and works fine)
I tried using RunFirst to use 1 core and using Windows XP SP2 Compatibility and still I have the same issues.
Any ideas?
I'm on Windows 10, Nvidia GTX 1080ti, Intel i7 8700, using GOG version

Do a fresh install of XW Alliance.
Install the XWAU Craft Pack v1.6 only
Then directly after install the XWAU Craft Pack v1.6: Patch v1.0
Nothing else apart from those 2.
Test it and see what happens now.

Hi, thanks for your fast reply. I did as instructed. New installation, only XAUCP v1.6 + Patch and I'm still having the same issue. I got a gut feeling that could be related with DirectX configuration.Ace Antilles wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 2:38 pmDo a fresh install of XW Alliance.

What is your monitor frequency? You should keep it at 60Hz

It was at 100Hz, changed it to 60Hz and that did it!capitanguinea wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 4:44 pmWhat is your monitor frequency? You should keep it at 60Hz

I had the same issue with frequency 144. Is there any possibility to fix it?

The game is running quite smooth in 144hz. The only problem is with cutscenes and in landing zones. And in my opinion flight is much better in 144hz.
And I've got GF 1060

Right now you'll unfortunately have to pick. Either live with the buggy cutscenes and hangar problems but have higher FPS in game or limit it to 60 FPS and have working cutscenes and hangars.

If your video output is at a different frequency respect your monitor you get a glitching interference. You can fix it from hardware limitating or coupling the devices to operate to the max common frequency in most cases. Built in accelerator build can be setup by deaktop undee windows. However if would not advice to go over 30 frame per second in any case because human eye do not see over that any better

SOLUTION: Make your FPS and Hz to match. Either 60Hz and 60 FPS or 144Hz and 144 FPS (Maybe you should do 100)
1. Disable V-Sync and disable the fps limit if you have any so your video card can reach as many fps as possible.
2. Change the refresh rate of your monitor and activate V-Sync. I'm trying to find a way to do it through ddraw or any config file so I don't have to change it each time I open the game.
HOW I FOUND OUT
So after a lot of testing and trying different things, basically what I had going on is that I had set my Nvidia card to force 60 FPS max for all games a while ago to avoid high temperatures in my video card when is not really needed. It was heating up with shitty games trying to get high FPS.
When the screen refresh rate doesn't match the fps it causes what they call tearing. Meaning the FPS and the rate don't sync. I disabled the limit and the game started working fine with 100Hz and I guess around 100 FPS.
