Proton Torpedoes

I noticed that the proton topedoes you have created seem to be similar to the one in "The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology". I always take the movies above all other sources for information. In ANH when Luke fires at the Death Star exhaust port, the torpedoes appear as tapered, red balls of fire.
