The biggest, the most badass ship ever to be upgraded by the XWAU. Long awaited it's finally here. G_T and Dragon have worked tirelessly to make this one of the most impressive crafts we have. It's simply huge! I know most of you had already given up on it, but here it is. So go grab it, enjoy it's beauty... and then blow it into shiny bits and pieces ;)

GT, Dragon (an I suppose technically Enterprise-E?) you two are both absolute heroes!

Downloading now, can't wait to check this baby out in some campaign missions! Screenies are absolutely beautiful, btw!

All these years of waiting and all we get is a big triangle.... *ducks* :cower:

Ahem. Bad jokes aside, I think I speak for everyone when I say:

YEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! :hurra2: I can now die a happy nerd! (Which, looking at how mean that thing looks, is entirely possible.) Awesome job, guys. I haven't even seen her up close yet and I can already see the attention to detail is amazing.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go download this, install it, then subsequently pick the pieces of my shattered mind out of the carpet. Again, great work fellas! :2thumbs:

And holy crap that thing is MASSIVE! :O

Guys this is an amazing release, brace yourselves for more fanboy squeeing when I've had a chance to properly fly round it. It's beautiful!

It's not a folder permissions thing, I just tested it with this latest version and had the same issue.
Damnit and it's been working with all those test versions before :(

Yeah, I had the same issue, too, but it's an easy workaround.

I feel obligated to offer my own report now that I've seen this puppy up close.

WOW!

The textures are amazing, the scale is darn impressive, the hangar is so awesome, the little details are jaw-dropping. Did I forget any adjectives? XD I especially love all the little bits to fly through and weave around on the upper surface. Makes me feel like a stunt pilot. It's incredible what you were able to squeeze out of the XWA engine.

Had to crawl out of the woodwork for this one... I wish there was a simple way to play on XWA. Is there and I missed it? I think this is a perfect reason to get back into XWA this year. It looks FANTASTIC.

So I noticed something when I was playing around with OPT GL just now, and now I have a question for you GT/Dragon.

How in the seven hells did you manage to include FG textures in an opt this big? They're awesome!

I won't spoil the surprise of what exactly they involve, but everyone should be racing to Allied right now to set up a mission using the alternate SSD FGs to check them out for themselves!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who peeked at the FG colors.

Man, I remember the first time I encountered the original TG SSD during the campaign and thought, "Holy cow, that's huge!" I was so impressed by it and thought it was just the best thing ever.
Seeing it next to the new OPT, it looks like a child's toy, now. :D

First off, let me say that this is the most beautiful model I've seen anyone make in the history of XWA Upgrade. I am just bewildered by how perfect it is. GT and Dragon, thanks so much. You guys are the best.

Now, I have a question. Why are the lights along the edges of the SSD blue and then turn to white at the tip? I understand the ILM models had this same quirk and I'm just wondering why they weren't a uniform blue. It looks to me like when making the model they just didn't get the right color light for the whole length of the ship and this is what they left it as: incomplete. But let me say that I'm totally fine with the explanation that you were just copying the ILM model as closely as possible. That's what you were supposed to do and you did a terrific job. Now, there could be a reason behind it, and I figured that you guys would have done your homework and might know what it is. Any ideas?

I doubt that they couldn't do it with all blue windows, the detail model has blue and yellow windows too. So they could have used one of the blue neon lights from the detail model if they wanted the whole ship blue.
Even Star Wars Technical Commentaries haven't tried to explain it.

Whose now? Dragon's or mine?
Enterprise E has it on his, I suppose that's where it belongs in the first place. :)
