Boy do we have a treat for you guys! The boys behind the scenes have been very productive and we are ready to give you 2 new releases and 4 upgrade releases!

So better strap in and make sure your joystick still works!

Firstly and for the second time we have the CR90 Corvettes

From Top to Bottom and Left to Right you have "The Liberator", "Farstar" (Single Hangar), "The Fulcrum", "The Phoenix", "CR90 with Cargo Module" and the "Freedom" (Dual Hangar).
The New CR90 Corvette Models and Textures are by Andrew Barragan (Barraganap) and used with permission.
Driftwood cut and split the craft into usable meshes added the textures and made all of them usable for XWA.
Darksaber has then refined the models by aligning a few of the meshes, adding a LOD model, recoloured some of the textures, adding rotation to the Gun Turrets and Comm Relays adding Hangar opts and enhancing the look of the dual hangar version of the Corvette named "Freedom".

There are 7 options for the CR90 Corvette in total, each having a slightly different configuration
  1. Standard CR90 = Has 2x Dual Turbo Lasers, 4x Single Lasers. FG 1 = Red/White, FG 2 = Phoenix Cell, FG 3 = Imperial, FG 4 = New Republic.
  2. CR90 'Liberator' = With added Docking Clamps, 1x Dorsal Quad Turbo Lasers, 1x Ventral Dual Turbo Lasers, 4x Single Laser Cannons. FG 1 = Red/White, FG 2 = Liberator, FG 3 = Imperial, FG 4 = New Republic.
  3. CR90 'The Phoenix' = Has 1x Dorsal Quad Turbo Lasers, 1x Ventral Dual Turbo Lasers, 4x Single Laser Cannons, 2x Heavy Turbo Lasers. FG 1 = Red/White, FG 2 = Phoenix Cell, FG 3 = Imperial, FG 4 = New Republic.
  4. CR90 'The Fulcrum' = Has 1x Dorsal Quad Turbo Lasers, 1x Ventral Dual Turbo Lasers, 4x Single Laser Cannons. FG 1 = Red/White, FG 2 = Fulcrum, FG 3 = Imperial, FG 4 = New Republic.
  5. CR90 'FarStar' = With added Hangar Module, 2x Dual Turbo Lasers, 4x Single Laser Cannons. FG 1 = Red/White, FG 2 = Phoenix Cell, FG 3 = Imperial, FG 4 = New Republic.
  6. CR90 'Freedom' = With added Dual Hangar Modules, 2x Dual Turbo Lasers, 4x Single Laser Cannons.FG 1 = Red/White, FG 2 = Blue/White, FG 3 = Imperial, FG 4 = New Republic.
  7. CR90 with Cargo Module = Has 2x Dual Turbo Lasers. FG 1 = Red/White, FG 2 = Phoenix Cell, FG 3 = Imperial, FG 4 = New Republic.

Like the Nebulon B Frigate's installer options, which ever option you select will be your primary option, but the installer will copy all the other versions of the opt models to your Flightmodels folder. It will then be up to you to decide how best to use them in your own missions, thanks to JeremyFr's "Craft Hook" features. This is an opportunity for advanced users. Please read the Editor Section to learn about it.

Included in the installer are all the latest "Hooks" (latest "Hook" update September, 23rd 2018) these will install silently and replace the "Hooks" if newer.

-Have Fun :D

Next up the updated Firespray Attack Ship aka Slave1

Currently we don't have new renders for this one, but I hope to get to that soon!

Special thanks to JérémyaFr, and some very creative modding by DTM, the Firespray now rotates into a landing position as first seen in the Empire Strike Back on the Cloud City Landing Platform.

The first completely new model is Warb_Null's awesome interpretation of the
XQ5 Platform

This one makes me especially happy since the stations have always been the most under-remodeled crafts we have. And boy is this one looking sweet:

And last but certainly not least is yet another great model from Warb_Null
Pinook Fighter

Another really great model with some cool new ideas. Make sure to check this one out closely:

Hi guys, i am new to the forum, but i have been playing xwa since 2000, and of course i know your website and hard work since the first opts were released!! 10 years ago or more maybe?

i have issues with these new craft. The pinook fighter shows some very weird graphic artifacts (in the database and missions) and then the games crashes to desktop, the same thing happened with the new plataform, other opt models works perfect.

i have the lastest craftpack of darksaber version 2.5 and my graphic drivers are not up to date, but about six months old.

any ideas?

thanks!

Nobody else has reported any such crashes or graphical artifacts this far, thus my first guess is that if you are experiencing a crash at this point then your hooks are likely not up to date; however, theoretically that should not be the case since I believe Darksaber added all the latest hooks since September (maybe not since I think some were released in October?)

Try going to the hooks section in the editing forum and download the hook updater program and try manually installing them.

It is possible that something else is going on, but what you described sounds like hooks not being up to date.

Posting your system specs and what version of XWA you have couldn't hurt us try and narrow things down. Also, perhaps post some screenshots of what graphical issues you are experiencing, and more details in what is leading up to the crashes too.

Worst case scenario do a clean install and start over with installing your mods.

Thanks for the answer, but i have already fix the issue.

it was an patch error known as "Triangling to infinity patch" that caused this opts to artifact and crashed the game. i downloaded the xwapatcher and fix the issue, and the new opts are now working fine.

thanks!

These models look great, although I would argue the cockpit of the pinook is a little "colourful" and unshaded (although I do see the texture-based Ambient occlusion under the pipes and rest of floor)

I can't remember if XWA shades the cockpit or not though so it might be fine in-game.

Great work,
Trev

Oh wow, these all look fantastic.

I wasn't expecting to see the Corvette get a re-work, let alone seven different variations. Seeing as they now all come with FG textures (awesome addition, btw) is there any chance of the patch editing the one or two missions you see an Imperial corvette to have the Imperial FG colours? No worries if not, I think it's only one or two missions so I can always do it myself.

The Pinook looks great. For such a weird ship, it's amazing what a bit of higher poly modelling and some creativity with the interior can do - I love the double cockpit.

Also, I was kind of expecting that to get a bit of a bigger fanfare. We finally have all the starfighters in the base game completed as XWAU ships.

Congrats, guys. :D

The XQ5 looks great too. Really glad to see the platforms finally getting some love.

One last thing. It's kinda off topic, but starting a whole new thread seems a bit pointless. Is the official XWAU X-Wing going to get updated to the V5 DS produced while doing all the Red Squadron variants? I haven't downloaded the latest XWAU full patch, admittedly, but the direct link to the standalone download still shows the older V4.

Again, no worries if not. I'm just curious what its status is.

Great work with everything guys. I love seeing all these new models, and all the new enhancements you're bringing to the look and feel of the game as a whole.

Eventually I'll get around to updating all the individual patches, we've updated quiet a few of the craft, but first I'll probably be updating the XWAUCP and DSUCP though, at this present moment in time though I'm just having a small break from doing anything XWA related, just to give myself a little breather as it start becoming a chore and not a pleasure to do :D

Just binge watching a few shows I've missed over the summer :D

You guys are AMAZING!!!!! :applaus:

Stupid question...

I've downloaded the Pinhook, the XQ5, and the Slave 1, but the link to the Corvettes seems to have the save version I've got already. Has the link not been updated or is it posted elsewhere. I'm getting old so despite looking for quite a bit, I could not find it. :blush3: :(

Hello,
The link to the corvette is fine. It leads to "Corvettev2.0.exe". The file size is 74.9 Mo.

It's been a while since I've had any X-wing games installed but good to see the upgrades still being released, looking great!
