Ok here's the first poll in my forum. Should get people talking.
I'm not clever enough to do a fancy one on my site so this is good enough!
So here we go!
HOW OFTEN DO YOU PLAY XWA?
Not Edit, add ships or create missions etc. But actually sit down and fly a skirmish or a mission. Play it for fun?
Answers on a postcard please!
------------------
Darksaber's secretary!
Ace Antilles X-wing Outpost
Home of The Batlle of Yavin and Endor projects.

Myself it's been quite a while. I've got a new PC and that has been right hassle!
I am going back and playing it on hard when I get time.
Mostly I'm in a Skirmish to get a screenshot or test an opt or DAT.

I make a point of doing it at LEAST once a day, 10 minutes at minimum. Have to keep myself good and remind myself why I got into editing in the first place. Random craft and all and WOOOO, is it fun!
------------------
Visit my site, the SSD Shadowkeeper!
UPDATE 1/22/02: 10 New Skirmish Pictures Added!
AIM me @ MIDI Master Jade!

I try to get in some gaming time every day, even though it might not be physically possible with tons of homework and all that. I create some skirmishes that I get from the EU, then play them. In fact, I just created a skirmish that re-creates the last battle in Balance of Power campaigns, so that you can fly on either side (Rogue, Avenger) and still have a fair game. Sadly I can't share any of those with other people, cause my host won't work.
But to answer your question . . . maybe every two or three days.
It was twenty years ago today...

Hmm usunally 5-8 times a day. usually quick missions like a three Awings(coughs *Knight*)
hitting facilitys and stuff. nothing big usually. I make missions in Allied and fly them from time to time. but when I dont have some term paper to write or whatever i play for a bit everyday just so opt creating doesn't slag off my pilot skills.
Now We've rewritten history.
The one thing that we found out.
The sweet taste of vindication.
Just turns to ashes in your mouth.
Where do we go from here?
And should we really care?
The end is finally here,
God have mercy...

I usually play it three or four times a week - for about 20-60 minutes. I often repeat missions that I liked very much (e.g. tunnel run) or just fly some skirmishes. I haven't played it through any more for a longe time now. But I still keep to it.
------------------
General Vince Trageton
UPMF Supreme Commander
The Imperial City Project
The Blue Phantom

All I do is edit. I have this misguided assumption that I will play it for fun after I finish all of my projects.

Hi Everybody,
It goes up and down, but when I'm really going at it, I play as often as I can.(an hour or two a day) I've been in love with the XWing since I was ten when the first movie first come out, and I just can't stop playing it.
By the way, one of the reasons that I keep my old computer around (AMD 200mhz) is so I can play the original. XWing CD won't work with the newer sound cards, or at least I have not been able to figure it out. Graphics aren't quite as pretty, but something about that game just keeps me coming back.
Have a great time playing,
TC: Knight of the Old Code
I mostly play to test my new opts out, but I try to make the process fun... I spent a ton of time in unecessary tests of my Enterprise opts simply because it's cool to blow up an SSD in about a minute flat I also will often set up skirmishes to test performance of new ships... I've played several one-on-one missions as well as many 6-on-6, to test the way ships will behave in combat. I'll just play them through for about 10 min, and record the results. Later, I watch the recording from a distance, just to see how things look. Wouldn't want those ships to appear TOO maneuverable now...
What? LOL! Sigs are for losers!! I wouldn't be caught dead using a sig!

Well, TBH it's only when an XWAU patch comes out that I fire up the game again.
Mind you, I do have a campaign frozen midway that I put on pause when I found out about XWAU and I intend to hop back into once the major rebel and imp capships are out.

Isn't it said that it's not so much the destination that counts as it is the journey?

ZING! Good riddance. Since I have just changed the e-mail in my profile, I did Forceflow's job and killed my posting. Hope you're happy, I know I am.

Yeah but they are quick 2-3 minute missions so it only plays out to be like one half an hour. Usually any other freetime I got(if any ) I spend editing

As often as possible. Currently I'm playing though the retail campaign. However I'm trying to juggle playing XWA, with playing Unreal Tournament (Being Darth Vader and racking up 80 frags on the Death star map.And thats with the computer on Godlike with 15 Bots).

I play it every day to test the campaign I'm making, but I really enjoy testing my missions so I think that could count. Could it?

I'm a bit like Abolisher, I edit lots and try to make opts, and say I'll play when I finish this, but never do. I do try to play for at least 10 minutes a day though, but i rarely happens.
------------------
Visit my webpage, Freelancers Spaceport.
When a cat is dropped, it always lands on its feet, and when toast is dropped, it always lands with the buttered side facing down. I propose to strap buttered toast to the back of a cat; the two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago.
