I like them... Lego's a unique line. I'm a "Lego purist" and I prefer to see less special pieces for sets...
There aren't as many in these last sets, but others kinda had more than they should. Not cool. Saves them on piece counts I guess, but still...
I'm surprised Legos are absurdly high priced in the UK too. I always figured they'd be cheaper than they are here, being where the Lego company is situated/producing its product.
It seems most anything produced from Europe is rather costly... Playmobile was a really expensive toy line as well, as I recall.
That's what keeps me from being a Lego completist I know. Just can't afford to buy everything they make.

I made a lego battleship that was about 5 foot long and 1 1/2 foot tall, and a cruiser to go with it. It was about 3-6000 pieces, and I have a picture of it somewhere, i just need to find a place i can scan it. The only thing i had against it was it was made up of many colors, given that i didnt have enough pieces of one color. it looks ugly because of the color, but was quite detailed.

I built a ISD out of legos. It is about 2 feet long, and 10 inches wide. It has a hangar that can fit 8 TIE Fighters (all made by me), and a larger hangar that can fit my TIE Bomber(also made by me). I probably spent a good $30.00 on that.
[ 26 October 2002: Message edited by: Admiral Ackbar ]

Yeah, but I built it with those regular legos, nothing special. Anyways, I don't have that much to spend.

Weird stuff. What's with the front of the T/B's missile pod? It looks like crap!
Does anyone else think that Jabba's palace looks like a Harry Potter set?
Meh, I gotta check out Rebel Scum for myself...

The T/B missile pod front does look odd, but it also looks like it serves a purpose, for lego, not matching the movies, etc. It looks like there is a missile or two in the hold, so those swing-doors kinda makes sense - easy access to the missiles, while keeping them snug. Obviously not made with the technical purists in mind like we are. :(
Edit: Eep - the website says the 17th...
[ 31 October 2002: Message edited by: Black_Knight ]

Ah, for the good old days when all the LEGO prices were even dollars.. $20, instead of $19.99, and S&H was included in the price.. :)

Yeah, back in the days when headlights were made up of 8 pieces and not just a sticker on a brick...

What do you think of the Ultimate Collectors Series?
I got the Star Destroyer for Christmas and finished it in two days. What took the time was searching through all the bags to get the correct pieces. The Blockade Runner had pieces in ten different bags! Only one piece missing out of 3104. It looks great but what do I do with it now? It's pretty big to display anywhere.
