Alright, by popular demand =) here's the OOC thread for our new battle thread.

Here some information on new characters and ships from my side:

Agent Taya Berin
Special agent of the ESS security force, reporting directly to Mryna Qhalic. Taking over the role of the primary weapons chief Taya is on an internal intelligence mission within the Spearhead project. Due to the project's crucial relevance she was deployed into this project to secretly monitor the project up to its completion.

Taya was born on Mithary and has entered the Secret service six years after ESS foundation.

Age: 31
Height: 1.72m
Hair color: blonde
Eye color: brown

-------------------------

Spearhead-class Frigate
Classification: Frigate/Gunship
Length: 380 m
Entered Service: 2545
Weaponry:
6 dual DIP turrets
4 light anti-fighter Guns (2 forward, 2 rear)
1 forward Fusion Cannon

The exotic looking Spearhead is a revolutionary design that takes the powerful fusion cannon from its so far massive battleship mount onto a small and more agile frigate-type ship. With moderate defensive weaponry the Spearhead is designed for long range strikes with its massive primary weapon. Since most of the energy is used by the fusion cannon, shields and defensive systems are comparably weak. Therefore it mostly relies on fighter cover and the support of the fleet's escort ships.

-------------------------

Katana-class Frigate
Classification: Frigate
Length: 620 m
Entered Service: 2542
Weaponry:
4 heavy dual turrets
14 medium broadside turrets
28 Anti-fighter batteries
2 Warhead launchers

The Katana is a medium-sized Frigate for escort and patrol duties. While mainly designed as an anti-fighter/bomber support vessel a small number of heavier weapon emplacements allow it to stand against smaller capital ships as well.

ESS Purifyer task force

The Purifyer is a Dominance-class Battlecruiser and is the 'carrier' for the new prototype Spearhead frigates.

Commandeered by General Sheal Draykh it is the flagship of a task group consisting of
1 Predator-class Star Destroyer
4 Inferno II-class Cruisers
3 Prototype Spearhead Frigates
4 Katana-class Frigates

You know G_T, you really need to upgrade you security at your weapons test sights. At this rate we'll have a dozen stealthed ships flying around the system before the bad guys get there. Which induces a funny thought, what if two stealthed ships ran into each other? I'd scare the crap out of the person on watch. In which case he'd call in reinforcements, so when the bad guys showed up, there already be a task force there, but for the wrong reasons. That would be amusing.

In Corellia's case, I'd imagine it's sort of a courtesy to have a ship nearby during tests.

Well, in a first version of my post I had the Purifyer overlook the tests. Maybe I could weave her in after all.<P>After all, the Dominance had a cloaking system already...<P>Edit: Alright. this'll do it. This way I won't let the UPMF get out of this :D<p>[ 22 October 2007: Message edited by: General_Trageton ]

If he thinks thats big, wait till he sees my <I>Excalibur</I>. <P>I've decided I want 4 Preds for the Excalibur task force, so I'll be raiding a shipyard in the near future. Got a preference?

Hang on a second. GT doesn't just give away ships, if you look at all the other battles and such, if someone wants another's ship, they generally trade something of value for it. For example, Mako recently gave GT an Executor-II and Shiromy advanced combat lessons in exchange for a few Warhammers. <P>Also, GT may not have mentioned it but I personally find demanding he just hand over the ships a little disrespectful, especially given you're relatively new around here.<P>Maybe I'm overstepping things here a little, but you could at least ask nicely.

I'm sort of kidding, I don't really expect to walk away with four free Preds (and I bet if I tried, G_T wouldn't let me) but I do want some. So, G_T, what would you trade four Predators for? And if I came off as disrespectful, I apologize.

The raid on a shipyard would make a nice battle, though...<P>The bigger a ship is, the easier it is to hit with Super MAC rounds :D

OK, posted.<P>I was waiting for Andrew, who was waiting for Mako. Mako posted, Andrew didn't so far, meanwhile I had some interesting ideas, which wouldn't directly interfere with Andrew's course, rather add to it. :)<P>I was thinking of going into a similar direction with Yadrec the way Andrew went with Williams. i. e. Keepers involved.<P>The ship that has just picked up the <B>Spearhead</B> is a sort of 'keeperized' reconstruction of Alyn Yadrec's flagship, the SBCR <B>Hera</B>. (See battle for Adminis 1). <P>Of course, Taya doesn't know yet >)<p>[ 03 November 2007: Message edited by: General_Trageton ]

Ok I'll post how the Keepers work for all to know here.As for how the Keepers work. They are like a combination of the Borg, the Cylons, and The Reavers from the series Firefly. They have droids to do their work for them, No one besides Mako and Canthas has ever seen one, and whatever technology they find interesting they take and use it for their own purposes. If one of your characters got in their way and wasn't discarded, or used in the making of the newest gate, then they were turned into a guinee pig for their amusement and sent out to wreak havok to help in the distraction so they can capture Mako and reopen their gate. As far as the Keepers are concerned this tired, worn out toy of a universe will be gone and destroyed when they pass through the gate. Oh and when you write the Keepers do it in third person. You never see anything from the Keepers point of view. But also keep in mind they are not cookie cutter bad guys, they are experienced, wise, have an agenda, and will destroy all that attempt to stop them.

So, whomever Taya will encounter on the Hera is some sort of drone? or Borg-like Zombie?<P>I was beginning to like her. :(<P>A word on Alyn Yadrec:<P>Alyn Yadrec was once Supreme Commander of the United Planets, like Ray Firkis, Tarlon Cervis and lateron Vince Trageton. Unknown to the public she had a romantic relationship with Tarlon Cervis, who eventually got killed by the Dhilani. At that point something in her head made click. When only weeks later Vince Trageton was declared enemy of the United Planets she somehow got the picture of him being responsible for Cervis' death and became obsessed with killing him. At first she did this under the order of the UPA's new leader Phlic Aelhoc. However their fleet was defeated by Trageton's and while Trageton decided to go into exile she fled into hiding obsessed to rebuild her armada and finally crush him.<P>Temporarily she had allied with the Stumbos, but when those were beaten hid away again to recover. Eventually she surrounded herself with an army mercenaries and, stealing plans for the Supreme Battlecruiser from the United Planets began construction of the Hera. The Hera was destroyed in the Battle of Adminis where Yadrec had initiated the self destruct to weaken the ESS fleet. Hiding again she built a second Hera but decided to proceed with more caution, subtlety and patience.<BR>As of late it now seems that she stumbled across the Keepers and was turned into one of their puppets. With her force she could be a valuable asset in bringing down any opposition.<BR>Many people under her command, such as Agent Danner, haven't realized so far what is going on and probably won't until it is too late.<P>@Mako, would this match with the Keepers?

In the case of Yadrec she might have cut a deal like Bill did. She gets to keep her crew untouched and access to 90% of the Keepers' Tech so long as She keeps Trageton from helping Mako. Thus further keeping Mako isolated and easier to deal with. <BR>And when I said the Keepers are like the Borg I meant that they Assimilate Tech not sentients.

OK, that's sort-of the situation I was hoping for. Human beings may be more fun to deal with than some borg-zombies :) <A HREF="http://www.studiodaily.com/images/artic ... 846873.jpg" TARGET=_blank>>_></A><P>[ 03 November 2007: Message edited by: General_Trageton ]<p>[ 03 November 2007: Message edited by: General_Trageton ]
