Kex who was left in charge of the VSDII when Jack left spotted a Star Destroyer orbiting Nar Shaddaa.
“Bring us in we are going to attack.”
“Ma’am we don’t have the advantage in this battle. A Star Destryoer will almost wipe us out.”
“They probably don’t even know we are here arm the warheads and aim for the bridge. Get our fighters ready to attack” Men started to scramble even more in the hanger, for some it was their first time flying for others it was just another day in an X-Wing.
“As soon as that shield is down I want Ion Cannons firing at that Star Destroyer forget the fighters go straight for the capital ship.” The Y-Wing pilots knew what they had to do in order to win this battle. The sun shone brightly on the republic markings as the VDSII came into view. All crafts prepare to launch we are in range in 10 minutes!
-----
Andrew looked confused and was wondering where he was. Flax sat across from him.
“Who are you?” Before Flax could answer Andrew shot out.
“It doesn’t matter in 2 seconds we will be all dead” Andrew smiled and pressed the trigger in his hand. Back where the metal case was in the street that was left behind an explosion set off. Andrew was shocked… “You disabled my bomb that fast? I’m impressed, for once the NRI did something right… I suppose your gonna take me to high command and get me executed, you people don’t even listen I’m innocent Williams is the man you want not me…” Flax sat there looking at Andrew.
----
Meanwhile Jack still kept an eye on the A-wings and hoped that Kex wouldn’t do something stupid while she was incharge.

Sara Phaley stared out of the view ports where in the distance small VSDII had started making a run for the almost twice as large star destroyer.
"Foolish" she commented. "They think they could take on a star destroyer with a Vic, some Bombers and what is left of their suprise moment. Even if they can topple the ISD, they'll still sustain considerable damage."
"One feels tempted to fire an omega blast across their bow to scare them away and thus save their lives." the ship's captain commented.
"That would only betray our presence here." Phaley said while reading the recent status reports from the surface.
"Remain cloaked ... but hold that thought!" she said, finally walking over to the Empress.
"There was an explosition at he rendezvous site. Maybe a bomb or thermal detonator."
"Casualties?"
Sara shook her head. "None. Looks like it wsa removed from its purposed place and just left behind when the two groups departed."
"I see, thank you."
Sara bowed and left for her command chair again. Despite all her experience and routine, she hated waiting.

Kagato looked out the View port at the approaching VSD. It would seem that despite their best efforts to stay hidden that they had been spotted. They were supposed to have left after dropping Mako and his group off, But Kagato knew how well Mako's plans to crap and had decided to stay a little longer. "K'shar," He addressed the Togorian female at the helm. "Get us and our newly acquired prize out of here before we take some unnecessary damage."
K'shar gave him an asking glance. Kagato sighed "WE just got this Star destroyer right before we got here. It still has Imperial markings and there is a Republic VSD headed our way with bomber support."
Taking the hint K'shar punched in the coordinates for their set rout back to the base. A second later the stars elongated and then the bridge was awash in hyperspace blue.
"Good luck my friend." Kagato whispered under his breath to Mako.

The sensor officer gave a highly undignified yelp and shouted for Captain Nartz, who made his away across the crowded bridge as quickly as possible, Gyttel and Farro close behind.
"Sir, new contact, it's an Imperial marked Star Destroyer, came out of nowhere. There's something not right about it, its transponder paints it as the Typhoon, a ship that vanished on route to Toydaria, but there's no record of her being sent here, nor of any contact since her last report a week ago."
Nartz gazed at the sensor console screen and clenched his jaw.
"Then we have no choice but to assume she has either gone rogue are been seized. What the hell is that Victory-class doing, are they moving to attack?"
"It appears that way sir."
Nartz sighed, then turned to the comm officer,
"Contact Admiral Pitto, suggest we deploy a team to the surface, and then request some heavier orbital firepower, we need to restore a bit of order to the space lanes here. Oh, and Brase," This was to the comm officer, "try and avoid the shouting next time, damn near gave me a heart attack." Nartz said, with a hint of a smile.
"Uh, sir, the SD just jumped, looks like the VSD scared it off. Really screwed up the lanes, there's ships diving all over the place from having to get out of the way."
Nartz scratched his chin, and turned to his Intelligence counterpart.
"Do you have any idea what the hell is going on here?"
"Not a one," Farro said, shaking his head, "but I fully intend to put a stop to it. And if my gut feeling is right, I'm going to have to put a stop to it, and that is where our friend Captain Gyttel comes in"
Gyttel merely nodded, cracking his knuckles with the slightest of smiles tugging at the corner of his mouth, perhaps he would get a chance to crack some heads.
[ 28 April 2007: Message edited by: The 95 Headhunter ]

Mako had grown tired of waiting and besides NRI's time limit was up. With a simple thought Mako released his restraints, then Wolf's. Using his mind to grab a hold of the air cab, Mako sent a psychic shock to the Agents in the front seat knocking them out.
Rubbing his wrists where the restraints held them Wolf asked. "I take it this is plan C."
"Yup" Mako responded, "and we've got a few moments before the Agents holding Andrew figure out what's up."
Pulling the unconscious driver into the backseat Wolf crawled into the driver's seat and took control of the Cab. "Those are Jedi holding Andrew." Wolf informed Mako as he pulled up beside the leading air cab.
"I'd have more to worry about from the local bugs than those two." Mako snorted. He waited until they were directly across from the other air cab to act. Opening the door to the cab he was in Mako used a telekinetic grab to rip off the door to the back of the other cab. Using another telekinetic grab Mako snatched Andrew and Allora and swapped them with the two unconscious agents that were in his cab. Shutting the door Mako told Wolf to hit it, and sent a message to his wife.
------
Roscha was lounging on the boarding ramp telling her daughter Ferris of one of Mako's adventures when she stopped in mid sentence and swore under breath.
"Something wrong Mom?" Ferris asked.
"Your father as usual with his hair brained ideas. Go get strapped in it's gonna be bumpy." Roscha turned her attention to the landed escorts as Ferris ran up the ramp. Reaching out with her mind she ripped the engines out of the A-wings. Once satisfied that there wouldn't be any pursuit as soon as she lifted off Rocsha followed after Ferris and got the Gopher Airborne.

The bridge was filled with cheering.
“I don’t believe it we scared them off!!” The VSD started to keep a close orbit around Nar Shaddaa. Kex was feeling cocky no one will mess with us now she thought to herself. An alarm sounded and the bridge was lit up by red lights.
“Ma’am we are being targeted by enemy ships!”
--------------------
Andrew couldn’t believe what he saw as he floated to the taxi. Everything was spinning he still wasn’t feeling quite right. He looked around and only recognized Wolf.
“Why do I have a feeling that I’m gonna regret this?” The taxi sped up and Andrew held on. “I guess I owe you guys for my life… again but I’m not sure I know who all of you are…”
--------------------
Jack kept behind the A-Wings in the HWK-290. Al of a sudden he saw an A-wing blow up in mid air. Jack swerved out of the way barley; the debris and the rain started hitting the ship hard. Thunder lit up the cloudy sky while Jack was having a difficult time keeping up and avoiding the traffic. A taxi came close to hitting the HWK-290 causing Jack to nick a neon light. “Damn it!” He had to put the ship down at a nearby cantina. The damage wasn’t bad but if he had kept going he would have cause some serious damage to the area around him. The left wing was smoking a bit but it was nothing he couldn’t fix. He tried to radio the VSDII but the frequency was completely static. “Damn weather” he murmured under his breath. The rain picked up a lot, Nar Shaddaa was due for a storm but it was still strange that the weather was this bad. The lighting lit up the sky once again. Jack looked around but didn’t see too many people around. Music was coming from the cantina and there was gran standing outside. Jack swore under his breath.

Wolf glanced back at Andrew from the driver's seat. "You're welcome, Yes you will, And say hello to the leader of my group, Mako."
Mako gave a Slight nod to Andrew and Allora. "Now that we're introduced get this flying brick to the safe house. Roscha's already on her way there."
"And what about those NRI guys?" Wolf asked.
"I could really care less right now. I got what I need. Now we find that contact Andrew was supposed to meet and get back my disk."
"I need that disk to clear my name." Andrew said
"And I need you to get that disk back," Mako cutin "but for now we get to the safe house and lay low."
_______
Admiral Skray paced around the bridge of the ISD II Culler. Every once in a while he'd stop to watch the Hyperspace tunnle as it went by. He'd recently been tasked to find the Space pirates who'd accosted the Empire Millions in credits, Weapons and Ships.
The culprits had hijacked an ISD a few days ago. Skray had tracked them down to his next destination. He stopped to watch as the Blue-white light of hyperspace was replaced with Starlines and then the visage of Nar Shadaa.
"Sir!" the sensor officer called out. "I've got two contacts in system."
"Are any of them the Typhoon?" Skray asked as he walked over to where the officer was.
"No sir." The officer shook his head. "There's one Lancer Frigate with Imperial markings and one VSDII with Republic markings."
"Hail that Lancer, I want to know if they've seen the ones we're after." Skray ordered
"And the VSD sir?"
Skray Thought for a minute. "Send out the Bombers and fighters to disable it. With the the Typhoon under pirate control and due to the strict budget, we'll need to aquire extra ships to help us in our pursuit."
Skray went to the captain's chair as red alert alarms went off. He had just sat down when the comms officer informed that contact had been established with the Frigate. "This is Admiral Skray of the Culler please respond."
[ 25 May 2007: Message edited by: Mako ]

"Captain, we're being hailed" The comm officer said, a worried look in his eyes, "Imperial-class Star Destroyer, just dropped out of hyperspace."
Captain Nartz turned to face Farro
"Am I right in thinking that this mission is classified beyond the average Star Destroyer captain?"
"Well, that's a technicality, but I think we should play it safe and stick to the cover for now, if the situationa arises, are we can get a better identity on the man that may change." Farro grimaced, he had to admit this was a situation he had been totally unprepared for, this Star Destroyer was obviously on a lone wolf mission, or command would have re-directed him.
The squawk of the comm unit as the newcomer repeated his query snapped Farro out of his thoughts, and he turned to see the communications officer snap his fingers and grin broadly.
"Sir, I have an idea," the young officer cleared his throat, and in his most officious tones continued, "Imperial Star Destroyer Culler, this is the Lancer-class frigate Eagle-Eye One, we're currently on duty monitoring traffic here, please give your full identification and purpose in the system, then transmit your ship's manifest for inspection." The officer looked at Nartz, who smiled and gave a quick nod, "Sorry to be such a bureaucratic pain in the ass, but we have our orders, and we just can't make exceptions."
Farro strode over to Nartz, "He's a quick thinker, I might have to steal him from you." He said with a chuckle, "I'm going to go and update Gyttel on the situation, I just a message on my private channel, we have clearance to send a team down, let's see if we can sort through this mess!"

"I don't like this." Sara commened watching the newly arrived Star Destroyer slowly sailing into the system. "That much imperial presence might jeopardize Mako's Mission."
"Maybe not!" The empress commented. While she spoke Sara noticed a group of new signals launching from the ISD - bombers and fighters. Going into formation they lined up on the VSD and accelerated.
Reports from the surface told that the capturing operation had been foiled by Mako and his people. They were on their way to a safe house.
"Whatever be the imperials' aim, attacking that VSD might cause some chaos. Maybe enough for Mako and his crew to make it off-planet." The empress pulled back her long wide sleeve and produced a wrist comm. "Mryna, rendezvous with the group once they're safe and reckon what is to be done onsite. Space is getting crowdy up here and we don't want to interfer much more than necessary.
"As you wish!" acknowledged the Empress' Hand. Then the Empress turned to Sara. "Launch a fighter wing. TIE Vampires. They are to attack the fighters that guard the imperial bombers."
"We're going to help the Republic?" Sara questioned.
"No, we're just causing some chaos."

Skray listened to the request given to him by the frigate. Thinking back he remembered hearing about a frigate being dispatched to to find another A-class felon, but surely this couldn't be them pulling lowly traffic control duty. Still it could be of use. "Send them our manifest and reason for being in system along with the description of the Corellian freighter and Star destroyer we're looking for." Skray told the comms officer.
"Sir!" the officer at sensors got Skray's attention. "Our Bombers and fighters have come under attack."
Skray narrowed his eyes. It wasn't possible that anyone would've known that he would be showing up here. Not even the other ships under his command knew he was here. "Send out the Gunships, Cyclones and move us within firing range. I want that Cruiser under my control, if not, I want it to serve as a warning for those who work with pirates."
-----------
Roscha had just walked in the safe house from making sure the Gopher when she saw Mako and the rest of their group sitting around a table with Andrew and his female companion. she went and sat down next to him. "I think you'd be interested in knowing that Shiromy is here."
Mako sighed "Yeah I sensed her. Just what could possibly bring the ruler of the ESS out here I wonder?"
"The price on your head? Remembeer you made that deal with Vince, not Shiromy."
Mako just shrugged
"Anyway she has offered to help."
"Good mabe she can send us someone who can find my disk. Be a doll and ask her for me."
Roscha glanced at Andrew. "Isn't that why we tracked him down?"
"Yeah, but we could still use the extra help." Mako turned his attention back to Andrew, "Just how far are you willing to go to clear your name?"

Flying a cloaked ship in a totally un-organized traffic system like on Nar Shaddaa proved to be far more challenging than Mryna had imagined. After barely evading the third seemingly weary of life speedomaniac she finally deactivated the cloaking system and instead increased the range of her passive sensors. For now she was undetected. Should anybody follow her and her target now, she'd hopefully discover soon enough. And after what she could make out of the Gopher, her ship was the only one actually combat-worthy.
Leaving the metropolitan area of te city she found herself in a more industrial sector of the smugglers' moon. The Gopher, as far as she could tell had gone down near a warehouse a few miles ahead. She'd bring the Scorpion down a bit off and go the rest by speeder - two ships on the same spot might cause unwanted attention. landing the ship and setting the systems on hot standby she keyed in some commands and ordered her two wingmen to move to her location and patrol the vicinity. Then she strapped on her weapons gear and pulled on a long coat that would cover most of her arsenal.
Off to meet Mako and his friends.

Gyttel strapped on his matte black armour, and turned to address the four men now under his direct command. They were from the blacker side of Imperial Intelligence: The Intelligence Covert Operations Directorate. All of them were experienced soldiers, from a variety of backgrounds; an ex-Stormtrooper Commander, an ex-Scout Trooper sniper, one was even a former Commando like Gyttel.
The team silently made their preparations as Gyttel watched. They may not have been Omicron Squad, the team Gyttel had once commanded, but they were good men, and they would do their job with ruthless efficiency.
"OK team," Gyttel's commanding voice broke the silence, "here's the situation as far as we know. We've tracked the insurgents to an building outside the moon's main districts, it is unclear how many of them there are, or even if they're that high up. But at this stage, any information is useful information. This is strictly an 'intelligence gathering mission'" Gyttel smiled, for him and his team, that phrase meant something rather different than it did for the Intel desk jockeys. "That means we take them alive as best as possible. We hid a transport in an orbital storage container, it will dock with the frigate and take us down. It's not a dropship, so don't expect it to come through for us in an emergency. Once we get down there, we'll set up an observation post and plan our attack there. Questions?"
There were none. Unbidden, the team made their way to the docking hatch
"Captain, the fighters just launched from the Culler[I/] are under attack."
"What? By whom?"
"I.. don't know sir. They.. they came from nowhere, I don't recognise the design either."
Nartz scrutinized the sensor feed carefully
"Is that a TIE cockpit? What the hell are these things."
"I really can't say sir, we can't get a proper sensor fix on them, even the optical sensor are getting distorted readings on them."
Nartz scratched his cheek worriedly, he looked at Farro, who merely shrugged.
"Transmit all the information we have to Admiral Pitto, we'll see what his decision is."
"Sir," another voice entered the fray, "The transport reports docking complete, the team is on its way to the surface now."
Nartz gave a brief, humourless smile.
"Well, at least we're doing something now."

“At this point I’m willing to do anything” Andrew looked at Mako… “What do you propose?”
---------
Kex kept a sharp eye on the moon below and kept looking to see where the alerts were coming from. Things started to get hectic.
“Ma’am bombers!”
“Shields up! Launch the fighters!” At that moment the hanger came alive again. The X-wings were able to launch first followed by the Y-wings and B-wings and the A-wings were last.
“This is gold leader, we spotted a ISD behind your position, there are several fighters also launching with the bombers.”
“Understood Gold leader. Gold group stay focused on the bombers while Red and Green group stay focused on the fighters.”
“This is Gray leader we will keep a tight formation near HQ and keep you informed.”
“Understood Gray leader”

Mako smiled at Andrew's response. "In that case welcome to the Coalition. Honorary member of course. Glowstick girl is in too."
Roscha reached over and smacked Mako up the back of his head. "You have a couple of those glowsticks your self."
Mako rubbed his head, "Yeah, yeah, anyway. First Andrew I need you to take the aircab and find that person you were supposed to contact about that disk. Then I need you to trace him back to the Hutt that's his boss. I was going to use the money that was in the Case you were carrying, but I think I'll use the Hutt's instead." Mako then turned to Canthas, "Canthas, you go with Andrew and Allora, you're under his command and will do as he tells you got it?" Canthas just gave a quick nod. "Wolf, Xandra I want you to go find out what happened to Andrew's other companion. If possible free him and get him back to me if not get the information back to me."
Both Wolf and Xandra gave Mako slight nods then headed out the door.
"What about us Dad?" Ferris asked from where she was standing next to the window.
"We kiddo will be finding out what our friendly messenger from Shiromy wants."
----------
While Admiral Skray waited on the answers from the Eagle Eye he watched the skirmish taking place outside the viewports. Turning to the gunnery station he got the officer's attention As soon as we are within range of the VSD open fire, once the shields are down use the Ions only I want that ship intact if possible. Have the tractor beams ready as well." Skray walked back towards the command chair where his second in command was waiting for him.
Captain Ilion had been with him since he had gotten his first command almost 13 years ago. Ilion was the one of the best officers that Skray had ever known and there was no one that he trusted more. "Sir the Republic Cruiser has launched fighters to add to those that were already harassing the bomber escorts."
Skray scowled at that. "Do we have a description of those fighters that attacked first?"
Ilion nodded, "We do, they seem to be TIE cockpits balls with mynock wings."
Skray's eye narrowed, "Launch the TIE defenders to hold those fighters off, tell the flight leaders to be warry of them. We aren't so abundant in funds that we can easily replace those pilots or fighters. Have the Cyclones, Gunships and Interceptors keep those rebel forces at bay while the Bombers do their job, also tell them to disable one fighter and destroy the rest."
"Aye Sir" Ilion saluted then walkied away to carry out Skray's commands.
Skray sat down in his chair and contemplated his next move.
[ 25 May 2007: Message edited by: Mako ]

"New fighters launch from the ISD - TIE Defenders, Ma'am. They're heading for the Vampires."
"Order them to pull back and cloak." Sara ordered. "I was not planning on loosing any fighters that were intended to create chaos."
"Yes" the Empress said. "Let's make this more interesting."
"Mylady?" Sara rose a brow.
"Summon the Predator!"
Sara frowned. "The Predator, Milady?". The Predator was one of the ESS' new designs, like Warhammer and Dominance the result of combined efforts between the ESS and Corellia.
"They're more than a match for a Star Destroyer." The Empress commented to answer her doubts. "They shall engage the ISD and shake them a litle."
-----------------
"Welcome on Nar Shaddaa, Ms Qhalic." The man Mryna recognized as Mako greeted her at the door. "May we ask you in? This place can get rough at times."
"So I've noticed" Mryna answered with a smug grin, holstering her still smoking blasters, while following Mako into the complex. Some third-class thugs had jumped her on her way to the warehouse. Poor fools. Inside the Warehouse Mryna found a woman in Mako's age - Roscha, obviously, and a girl of maybe 9-10 years, their daughter Fenris, as she concluded.
"I suppose as the Empress' Hand you have detailed information on each of us, so we can skip the formal introductions."
Mryna nodded briefly as they sat down to the table.
"So, what brings you here? I asume it is related our the deal with Vince?"
"Pretty much, yes." Mryna said. "Empress Shiromy is interested in your well-being and that you live to enjoy the benefits of the arrangement."
"and keep our part of the deal." Mako amended.
"Exactly." Mryna confirmed with a wry smile. "There are some imperials orbiting the planet. At least one of them seems to be looking for you. We've created some unrest up there to keep them busy should you and Andrew decide to leave the planet. We have enough resources to keep this up as long as necessary. My job is to offer any assistance you require. So, what's your plan?"

Andrew, Canthas, and Allora headed to the cab. Canthas armed himself with a heavy imperial repeater and Andrew with an E-11 Rifle with scope. Allora kept her saber close.
“Wanna drive?” Canthas nodded and they piled up.
“Too bad you blew up all that money, must have been a good amount of cash in there”
“There was no cash in the case, I still have it all.” Allora revealed a small pack under her robes filled with credits.
“Mother….”
“Once were done here remind me to pay Mako back for all the times you guys helped me… We got enough ammo right?”
“Im full buddy how bout you?”
“480 I think that should be enough.” The Taxi flew through the unorganized traffic. “Lets try that cantina ove…”
“What is it?” right then Allora spoke
“JACK!”
“How did he find us?” Canthas saw Andrew’s HWK-290 smoking infront of the “Lazy Man” Cantina. The Taxi landed Andrew and Allora went running out but found no sign of Jack. The wing looked damaged but not too bad.
“There’s no one in the cockpit”
“Should we try the Cantina?”
“Yeah Allora keep an eye out for Jack me and Canthas will look for my contact.”
-----------
The VSDII was now facing the ISD. Kex adjusted her eye patch, which usually meant she was nervous. She usually was good at hiding her emotions.
“As soon as gold group takes care of the bombers they will create a pattern and try to take out the ISD’s shield generators. As soon as those are out I want ALL turbo lasers focused on the bridge of that ISD.”
“This is Green 3 a new ship is entering the sector its one I haven’t seen before, its possible that its of Corellian design.”
“You sure Green 3 I got nothing.”
“Wait I see it what is that thing?”
“What ever it is it cant be friendly”
“Focus on that afterwards work on these fighters!”

Gyttel hurled the expensive electrobinoculars to the floor and rubbed his eyes. The day had rapidly gone from painfully dull to plain wierd.
Within minutes of the arrival and establishment of a rudimentary observation post, the team had witnessed one heavily armed leave, and the arrival of two highly intriguing individuals. The first was a woman Gyttel knew all too well, as it was in no small part down to her that Gyttel's friend Admiral Marcus Pitto, commander of the Imperial 57th Task Group, was currently redecorating the command chamber of a Vengeance-class Super Star Destroyer. She was certainly not one to cross in a dogfight, but Gyttel felt his team had the advantage on the ground.
The second was interesting purely because of his appearance, the bloodied sword was certainly an interesting touch, but one that did not have Gyttel overly worried at this time.
"Boss?" The squad's designated sniper, known as Telum asked questioningly.
"Things just got interesting, how close are you to finalising the plans?"
"We're done, stealth approach, flashbangs on the doors and windows, and a charge on a section of weak wall we've scanned. We go in, toss a few more flashbangs, set for stun. Textbook op, sir."
"Maybe now that Jedi's gone, but these aren't your average rebel scum, something tells me it won't go down quite like that. That's if it goes down at all, I have some more information to relay first."
"Whenever you're ready sir!"
****
"I know, Nartz sent me some footage of their starfighters, recognised them straight away. They may well have helped us, but it was only ever a temporary alliance, besides, their actions have already made it clear that they're no friend of the Empire. I'm taking the Proditus in to help our forces there, you're clear to make your attack."
Pitto flicked off the comm switch, before turning to the crew pit. "Navigation, take us out."
Exhaling slowly, Pitto smiled. His flagship was finally going to be tested properly.
****
"Culler, this is Eagle Eye One. The people you're after, we've been monitoring them for a while now. I'm sorry we couldn't tell you before, but we were under strict orders to remain covert, you've just been cleared. We'll gladly share everything we have once things settle down, do your pilots need some help? We may be an intelligence mission, but we're still battle ready, we can move in on your order!"
****
"OK team, the orders come through, get the explosives set up. And for frick's sake don't get seen!"
Wordlessly, the demolitions expert and one other picked their way carefully towards the building, armed to the teeth with explosives.

"Close your eyes!" There was something odd in Mako's tone.
"What?" Mryna questioned irritatedly. In the next moment she heard the destinctive hiss-humm of a lightsaber being ignighted.
"Do it, NOW!"
------------------------
Darron leaned back calmly watching he blurry haze of hyperspace burst into lines of stars. Right in front of them was the grey moon of Nar Shaddaa orbiting the swampy planet of Nal Hutta. And now, coming nearer quickly was the grey silhouette of an Imperator-class star destroyer's port side.
"Reverted to real space, target acquired." reported the tactical officer.
"Open fire" Darron commanded.
"Let's scare them a litle then we get out again."
With a burst of light the Predator's countless quad batteries awakened to life and began pounding the star destroyer's dorsal hull. Within moments the smaller ship's shields had dropped to 60%.
"That's enough for now." Darron said smilingly. "Time to leave again."
Seconds later, the hyperspace coordinates were set and the Predator disappeared again.

Skray watched the ongoing battle intently. He watched as what once were pilots with lives, and fighters that were material and money turn into minature suns and vanish in an instant. Loss.. such was the price of being in command and accomplishing a mission.
"Sir," the sensors officer called out. "The odd looking TIEs have pulled out, Sir."
Skray sighed. Well at least there would be one less set of losses he would have to worry about, for now. "Have the Defenders pull off and reinforce the bomber escort, have Eagle-Eye One send whatever fighters they can to assist with the bomber escort, and tell those bombers,"
"Sir! we have an incoming Cruiser, unknown type or class that just jumped into the system and is bearing down on us!"
"Take evasive action!" Skray yelled as he got a good hold of his chair.
"It's too late." The vessle shook as it took in laser fire from the new arrival. And as quickly as it appeared the attacking ship was gone.
"Status report!" Skray straightened his shirt as he walked over to the diagnostics station.
"Hull damage is minimum Sir but the shields are down to 60%."
Skray frowned, "It would seem that our pirate friends have unexpected resources from which to pull. We need to end this quickly and now. Have all fighters carrying ordinance blind fire all missles on that VSD!" Skray watched as all the remaining bombers, Defenders, and Gunships launched their warheads at the VSD. The republic fighters tried their best to pick off the warheads before they reachd teir target, but there were just too many. Warhead after warhead pounded into the VSD's shields until they were overloaded and failed. Skray had started to smile when his small joyous was interrupted.
"Sir, We have rebel fighters headed toward us, they're going for the shield generators!"
Skray's smile broadened. "What those fake things? Hah, they must think that we've been weakened. Have the Defenders and remaining Fighters herd all remaining Republic fighters toward those very towers. We'll give the new gun emplacements a good workout." Skray walked back to his chair, and sat down. "Take us with in firing range of that cruiser I want all ion cannons and Mag pulse launchers ready to fire. And have the Bombers return their work is done."
-------------------
"Close your eyes!" Mako ordered both Myrna and Jonathan at the same time as he ignited one of his lightsabers and threw the other to Roscha. Ferris carried his old corusca-gem cut curved swords Soryunokiba and Soryunotsume so there was nothing to worry about there. "Do it, NOW!" he demanded when he saw both Myrna and Jonathan slow on the uptake. Holding the silvery blade in front of him Mako had just enough time to close his eyes and send a mental message to his daughter not to do anything spectacular and just protect herself just before the door slammed open and some flash-bangs went off.
[ 27 May 2007: Message edited by: Mako ]

The timing of the explosions was flawless, particularly given the nature of their planting, demolitions expert 'Flare' had certainly earned his pay in that respect.
Two seconds after the door blew inwards, a section of wall on the building's opposite wall met a similar fate.
Less then a second after that, the flashbangs went off. A combination of blinding light and deafening noise assaulted the occupants' senses.
The debris had barely fallen before ex-stormtrooper 'Strill' appeared in the wreckage of the doorway, and blue arcs of stun waves cascaded through the room.
It was as Strill took a moment to aim properly, less than a second's work, that he noticed two brightly gloing rods amid the dust.
Strill hesitated momentarily, and that was all the time the figure nearest needed. Strill fired two bolts, but the shape, obscured by the think clouds of dust, was able to dodge with impossibly quick reflexes.
From the other end of the room, a second torrent of flashbangs sent a concussive wave throughout the building once more, as Gyttel and Flare leapt over a pile of debris.
Strill's helmet filters protected him from the worst of the blast, but he was nonetheless left slightly disorientated. The figure turned to face the newcomers, but not before raising the glowing blade upwards in a swift, clean motion, cleaving straight through Strill's lower right arm.
As he fell limply to the ground, ex-commando 'Pike' leapt in behind him, running up to the saber-wielder, who now had his back to him. A swift strike with the butt of his weapon produced a dull grunt, and the man fell forward.
For his efforts, Pike was rewarded with a blaster shot to the chest from the red-haired woman. Though his armour was able to protect him, the sheer force and surprise of the blast was enough to knock him backwards.
All this had taken but a few brief seconds.
"DROP YOUR WEAPONS, NOW!"
Above the pain screaming through his head, Strill heard the Gyttel' authorative shout, before his vision clouded, and all his senses went dark.
****
The Proditus emerged from hyperspace to find significantly fewer enemies than Pitto had hoped. Given what he had seen a few years back, however, he was certain that the as-yet still mysterious force would have plenty of surprises up their sleeves.
A New Republic Victory-class was hardly a proper test. Privately, Pitto hoped the task force that had obliterated the weapons research facility he had helped Moff Hallux set up would make an appearance. His absence from that battle was something Pitto sorely regreted.
Pitto saw with approval that Eagle-Eye One was moving to engage the enemy starfighters, doing the job Lancer-class frigates were meant for, before he gave his orders.
"Hold TIE squadrons, let's see if we can drive these dissidents off without unnecessary loss. Formally inform the Culler of our arrival, and take us into combat."

Kex was not happy at all about the shields failing on her. “We are in for a treat… They are gonna try to disable us if they get close enough.” “Grey squad you’ve done your job here try to keep that ISD away aim for the engiles while Gold squad aims for the shield generators, we still have a chance!” With that the B-Wings guarding the VSD went into attack mode and aimed for the engines.
“Ma’am if this plan dosent work shall I prepair our interior defences?”
“Yes… mines, snipers, soldiers…. Also if they manage to get into the hanger, there are some AT-ST walkers in there its about time we used them” Kex walked over to her chair and hit a button on it. Apart of the arm rest opened up and she pulled out a heavy rifle. Time to go down with a fight Kex thought to herself.

Mako heard one of the intruders yell the order to throw down his weapon. What a moron. Rocha, grab Ferris, Myrna, and Jonathan and go through the hole in the wall I'll be right behind you.
You better be!
Mako shuddered at the thought of the consequences if he wasn't. When the others were safely out of the building he shut down his lightsaber and reached out with his mind. Finding the building's supports Mako atomized them causing the safe house to collapse in on itself. Satisfied with his work he followed the others through the falling debris.
--------------
Ilion was observing the battle from the sensors station when the new ship appeared. What was a Vengeance class battle cruiser doing out here? It was listed as the Proditus and was hailing them. As quickly as he could he went over to Admiral Skray to relay the information.
"it looks like the game is up for the Republic." Skray said smuggly.
"Sir we have fighters attacking the fake sheild generators."
"Good, Order our fighters to disable those ships. Have whatever Ion cannons that can fire on those fighters as well and tell them to make sure not to hit any of our own."
"Yes Sir! And the Proditus Sir?"
"Inform them that we acknowledge their presence and they're welcome to help in bringing these pirate accomplices to justice.

Things turned out rather interesting now. With the newly arrived Vengeance Battlecruiser the cards looked rather bad for the small Republic destroyer.
Beside her Shiromy noticed Admiral Phaley scurry to her sensonrs chief and exchange some words. "Familiar with this ship?" She asked. Something in the Admiral had changed.
"It seems so, yes." Phaley straightened. "We encountered this this ship before - in the Remora System."
Shiromy's eyes narrowed to slits. The incident that had temporarily thrown the Dominance back in time. They had encountered numerous factions in a massive battle.
"This cruiser was a Stumbos ship until the Empire managed to capture it - with our help."
"I see." Shiromy said with an icy tone. "so now the past catches up." Shiromy took a few steps along the viewport. "very interesting."
"We parted as neutrals - maybe with a positive impression." Phaley stated. "But now that we attacked their fighters, They might have changed their oppinions."
"Maybe." Shiromy noted emotionlessly. She had already reached out with her senses and for a momeht touched the mind of the people aboard the Proditus.
"Are you familiar with one Admiral Pitto?" She finally asked.
"Yes, Mylady." Phaley nodded. "He was leading the Imperials at Remora III."
"Good." Shiromy said. "Hail him - personally - but remain cloaked. Let's see how these old 'friends' fared.
---------------------------
Mryna was in a state of by turns coughing and biting her teeth. One of the stun bolts had grazed her left shoulder before she could knock out the commando. Thanks to her training she was able to contain the stun effect to that area - her left arm numbly hung down beside her while she stumbled out of the collapsing building.
"Damn, that was close!" she cursed following Roscha, her intact right arm still sweeping the area for potential attackers.
"One down" Mako stated, jumping after them. "The others are still alive. But the debris should hold them up for a while. Let's get some space between us and them."
"The empire sure seems to want you badly."
"Or you" Roscha said turning to face her.
"Me?" Mryna stopped irritatedly.
"There was something odd in one of the Commandos when he saw you." the woman explained. "He seemed to know you."
"Yes, but he was rather suprised to see her" Mako interrupted. "In fact I don't think they were looking for any of us speciffically. Just one of those imperial-style 'capture-and-interrogate-random-people'-mission."
Could it be? The ESS never had any contact with the Empire - except for ... "Gyttel" She said tonelessly.
"Who?" Mako and Roscha exchanged looks.
"I met him a few years ago. There was a temporary alliance between the ESS and the Empire against a common enemy. We helped them capture one of the enemy's cruisers."
"It doesn't happen to be that one?" Jonathan said pointing upwards. following his directions Mryna spottet a shape in the night sky of Nar Shaddaa - the destinct shape of a Vengeance-class battlecruiser.
"Yes ...." she murmured. The thoughts and recent events spun in her head. "I have a bad feeling about this."
"In any case" Mako said while behind them Mryna could hear the sound of torches and crackling debris. "We should get moving."
[ 29 May 2007: Message edited by: General_Trageton ]
