Been sitting on my butt long enough. So here's a first sneak peak of a VERY EARLY WIP stage of the First Order's Resurgent-class Star Destroyer, also known as the Finalizer.

2,915 m long it's almost twice as big as an Imperial ISD and I think it's gonna make up for one hell of a target :D

Like I said, this model is in a very early stage so many bits, especially of the upper structure are far from accurate or as detailed as the finished product is intended.

Nice GT. Probably one of the hardest models to make, it's so abstract in design.
I found a great reference shot from the digital CG movie model. Click on the image on the webpage for a close up view.
Other TFA starfighters are below it too. :-)

If anybody comes across some pics of the underside and rear, those are what I'm currently lacking.

There are some photos here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Resurgen ... _Destroyer
I also have a 3DSMax model of the very low-poly model seen in these renders: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/73 ... 8c221b.jpg It's from the Pinball FX2: Might of the First Order table seen here: https://youtu.be/TVyEvgHW8gw?t=6m40s
I think the overall shape is accurate but the model lacks any really good mesh details. The textures include some baked-in details as well. I can provide it to you for reference if you would like.

Yeah gladly. I've also found some untextured model shots, likely fanmade though, as far as I could tell, fairly accurate.

I did however notice a slight deviation between the actual movie model and the schematic version which seems to have served for most custom models - and toys - out there. The difference is in the part behind the bridge, which, according to that schematic and fanmade models features two "prongs", for lack of a better word, going to the back from either side of the bridge.

However, the movie version IIRC only features a single thick prong right behind the bridge, kinda like the "tail" on the Republic's Acclamator and Venator cruisers. Given that by lore the First Order has designed the ship to take designs from both Empire and Republic era (THe ISD's firepower and the Venator's carrier capabilities) I tend to go with the movie version.

Nah, there are two prongs there you can't see the left prong in the movie normally because it is obscured in the shadows.

What I have circled here, is the area between the two prongs you see in all the other model shots.

I also made a cap from my home copy and brightened it in photoshop, both prongs are there.

Sorry for the late reply. Yeah I see now that you're right. Well that makes things easier for me :)

Also thanks for the model, Q! It's not perfect but it'll serve nicely as reference.

I just got my hands on the Lego TFA game(I love all those lego adaptations!) anyway, there's a freeflight level where you have to fly a TIE around the finalizer. The cruiser model itself is actually pretty accurate and I recognize many things from the actual movie one. That plus the various shots should keep me supplied for a while :D

Yeah, it is a great look, and it seems pretty accurate.
