A litle side project of mine, which I wanted to tackle for a while now.
The Battle over Coruscant Shipset was created in 2006, before the release of the DSCUP. As of today, the Shipset is no longer compatible with the current game Meta ship layout, as it used to install the ships into in different slots than were later established with the UCP. Therefore, I have now finally decided to come back and bring this shipset up to speed with 2020 builds.
For the remake I have several goals
- Update the ship library to make it compatible with 2020 builds, so if you have say a DSUCP build of the game, you can just add the mission files and that's it.
- Replace the old Orbit opt and make use of DTM's Super Backdrop, which conveniently features a Coruscant Orbit.
- Tweak the mission itself a bit. The original mission was rather cramped, owed to the orbit's limited size. I plan to imrprove on that, spreading things apart a bit.
- Make everything bigger! With JérémyFr's hooks we can now support a lot more ships in a region without performance loss. Therefore I plan on expanding the mission, adding more shps to battle on the sidelines.
The remake is still in a very early stage but we'll get there eventually For now, here's a first look.

Very interesting, I never played the old Shipset with the old mission, everything was too cramped for me.Only used the VSD 1 Republic Camouflage to give the rebels at the hospital a stronger defense . i am looking forward to the revision of your mission

Yeah that's something I noticed as well when playing through it again, everything's pretty cramped. FOr the remake I'm going to spread everything further apart ....

The bump/normal mapping on those ships looks great!
I don't seem to be seeing that in the standard XWAU... have I missed installing something?

That’s a standard part of the effects by blue_max, so you’ll have to install that package to get the bump mapping effect.

I remembered this shipset! Any update on the progress? Clone Wars Era ships were always some of my favorites.

Not yet, unfortunately. I have it on my ToDo list which does require some organizing at the moment
