Wow! I love the smooth lines, wish I had some room to install it. Ahh, wait, Flavid hasn't completed his Thrawn Trilogy, so I do have room.
**Prepares to overwrite the Shieldship OPT**

OK, I've done a slight change to the model. The extra engines are now mounted below the ship.
I think it looks better this way, also on the other version the turret would've come very close to the engines when rotating - would look a litle weird.
pic:

I'm gonna test-OPT it now, to see if everything works.

Killer.
Opt it and I'll find a couple of places to put it in the TF conversion.
Am I supposed to put something witty here?

You do realize that aerodynamics are pretty pointless in a vacuum, right?
Anyway, interesting design. A trifle overpowered IMO but looks quite nice. You might consider making the actual turret a little larger (not the barrels). Right now it seems way undersized to house that many guns that big.
Incidentally, I think the big engines topside seemed to fit better. Makes the engine configuration more balanced due to the downturned wings.
[ 10 February 2003: Message edited by: The Saxman ]

That's okay, the Shadowkeeper can handle it.
And Saxman, if aerodynamics are useless in space, what're all of those designs on your site?

I could choose from a list offered by the hosting service. Most of the features are plug-ins from that service. I'm about to start working on a 'real' site, can't tell much yet though.

OK, I'll talk to you about the textures later.
As for the engine glow ... well, there's nothing special about those - just two colors, scaled correctly, finito - nothing special.

The Toscan Fighter is great!
But I'm sorry I have to comment on the wallpaper; the sun glare is good, the the starfield is too dense and the fighter render looks a bit cheap this way. I'd suggest you render it in 3DS MAX! If you don't have it, send the fighter (OPT) to me please. Here, looks at this X-Wing rendered in MAX (very quickly, internet connection is on
