Yea that happened to me too, installed Windows 10, checked the XWA utilities Mxvted, bhe, a few others things didn't work

So I uninstalled windows 10, uninstalled that annoying little reminder to install windows 10, I'm back to using Windows 7, and everything works just fine :)

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Strange. I just tried out a few programs, MXvTEd included, and it works just fine under Win10 for me.....

Have you tried running it with administrator rights?

For me everything in Mxvted worked normal with Windows 10...EXCEPT the Weapons Editor.

I tried it on windows 7 64-bit, and still getting the same message, tried working around the compatibility still nothing

does anybody have the old version, like BinHexEdit 0.5.00, 0.4.25?

Does not exist!

Remember BHE is from 1998

Just a thought, have you tried installing the Visual Basic 6 Run Time Files & Visual Basic 5 Learning Edition Runtime Files

Both files are available from my site File Archive/Miscellaneous Utilities right at the bottom of the page

I have the same problem as OP.
"Run-time error "70", Permission denied" message pops up and the program then closes when I select anything I wish to modify.

I am also using Windows 7 ( Ultimate edition) x64 bit and I have already tried to run BHE with administrative permissions with no luck. I am not sure what else to try :?
