Hello. In my game, when using the external padlock view, whatever is padlocked is directly behind my ship on the screen. Is it possible to make it so it is more like in IL-2 Sturmovik where the padlocked plane is off to the side some so you can see both your ship and the ship being padlocked?
Thank you for reading this, and thank you again for X-Wing Alliance Upgrade.
Can the External Padlock View be Changed?

I'm not sure to have understood what you mean, but if you intend to padlock an object and have an external view of your craft at the same time, this can be done in the Film Room.
- to switch to toggle mode
G to track the next object
H to track the previous object
I hope this can help.

I don't judge tactics. The Battle is the best and only Judge.

Sorry. I didn't really say that very well, and I was saying it backward about the example of how the external view looks in IL-2 Sturmovik (WW2 sim). It's the padlocked aircraft in the center of the screen and the aircraft in the foreground that is off-center (and not to the side some as I was saying, but moved down below the center of the screen). Anyway, the two aircraft are in different places on the screen, so you can see them both. In XWA, both craft are in the center of the screen so one is blocking the view of the other. I was just wondering if there is some way to make it so the padlocked craft and the craft in the foreground are not both in the center of the screen in XWA. I tried to attach a screenshot.
Sorry I don't say stuff very well. Thank you for making a reply. I appreciate it.

Press - key to external view, then * and move Joy to adjust camera possition, (press fire for closing view, select button to move away).
Once you get your camera possition, press * again and you can fly.

As I remeber, this type of view is aviable only in the film room, not during gameplay.
I really would like to make XWA more similar to IL2...

Thank you all again for taking time to make replies. I appreciate it.
I hope you all will have a nice weekend.
That's what I was asking about, for when you're watching replays in the Film Room. The external padlock is my favorite view to use while watching replays in IL-2.I was wondering if there might be a way to edit the XWA game so the selected craft (in the foreground) is not in the center of the screen too like the targeted (tracked) craft because the selected craft blocks the view of the targeted (tracked) craft unless it's something really big.
I'm not able to reproduce that in my game during gameplay. The repositioned camera remains fixed relative to the selected craft.
I hope you all will have a nice weekend.

Thats right, the ship is in the center and you cannot change during Gameplay. I thougth moving the camera (* key) a bit and moving backwards would be enougth.
Anyway, It is what It is.
