So is the mission at fault or one of the new opts, and does the SSD need moving??

It seems that the 2.02 mission craches too. The game stoped and i had to kill the XWA task.

Yes, but i couln't repeat the error on the vanilla version for a second time.
It seems that the vanilla mission has a different timing, so this crash happend less often.
There are two differences in the vanilla version vs. the UCP version, who go hand in hand.
First the ATR Talon start 2 km closer to the Corvette Razor. (The first wave reach the Razor before the Shuttle dockes)
Second the ATR Talon crash into the Kothlis II base after the first attack run. (The Razor is only attacked for a short time, the Shuttle dockes after the crash of the first wave and compledes the docking before the second wave is in range.)

OK, just to get this straight, just repeated the error with the vanilla version.
The error in the Kothlis Battle is a game engine error, it has nothing to do with the XWAU or the UCP.
It seems that if a, "docking operation completed" and a "weapon hit" occur simultaneously, then the game crashes.
I've played a bit with the timings, but didn't found a solution for the Easy and Medium difficulty levels thus far.
The Hard level is not the problem, the Razor is destroyed before the Shuttle dockes.

Thanks for the testing and the detailed explanation, Dragon. I had noticed this glitch before, but I never knew why it happened or what could fix it.

Darksaber's Ultimate Craft Pack v2.01 has been tested with the following Operating System:-

Windows 7 Ultimate

Service Pack 1

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.66 GHz 2.67Ghz

Installed Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB

System Type: 64-bit Operating System

Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
Works fine on my system, your going to have to go into a little more detail, have you added any screen resolution patches, or any other craft patches??

What are your system specs

I have been gaming XWA with DSUCP v2.01 the last few days. In full 1920x1080 HD :)
It had been great! I really appreciate the XWA upgrade projects. Good job guys!

BUT I have noticed a mission bug in DSUCP v2.01:

In "Tour of Duty Four - Mission 6 Protect Imperial Computer" the rebel calamari cruiser "Independence" seems to be replaced by an Imperial ship class. This must be a bug. Also the mission could not end. I was stuck with the SSD destroying the Independence. The Independence did not attempt to hyper out of the area even though it had plenty of time. It just sat still in space. I had to "Skip" mission and go on with the campaign.

Btw: I really look forward to a TIE Fighter TC that works with Win7 64bit

A side note to my bug report.
I don't know if it is an original picture problem that comes with the game, but one of the backdrop planets has a strange look. The picture with the planet contains BLACK background - but space in the game is actually DARK BLUE. I know it is a small thing but if it is a DSUCP picture then it would maybe also be a small thing to fix ;)

I played through this mission a couple of times now, each time I have the Independence (not anyother craft), which eventually Hypers out, so I'm not sure what going on with you mission.

I'd try reinstalling or redownloading the UCP

The TFTC will be some time off yet, I'm still awaiting a few items to include :(

I did a clean install just before installing DSUCP v2.01.
1. Installed XWA
2. Installed update xwaupd202.exe
3. Hex edit XWINGALLIANCE.EXE to run 1920x1080
4. Installed DSUCP v2.01 with the No-CD and custom DDraw.dd for ATI Card. (No other special ship or laser options sellected)
5. Replaced FONTS.DAT with an old version I have.(Look at screenshots.)
I still get the same ship replacement error. I have now played further through the game and seen a similar error in "BATTLE 6 - Mission 6: Escort Rebel Fleet".

When exiting the hangar the first rebel cruiser I see is the MARIA and it seems to be replaced by a large Imp. cruiser:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/XWAScreen1.jpg
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/XWAScreen2.jpg

I jump to a point where I save some ships from Imp attack and then jump to the
INDEPENDENCE and help her escape Imperial cruisers. Here the INDEPENDENCE is an Imperial model also. A small cruiser (maybe Enforcer / Vindicator-class?) cruiser:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/XWAScreen3.jpg

I tried to land in its hangar and reload warheads. It worked but there were graphic issues:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/XWAScreen4.jpg
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/XWAScreen5.jpg
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/XWAScreen6.jpg

The INDEPENDENCE then stopped in front of the hyper point and got destroyed by the Imperials:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/XWAScreen7.jpg
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/XWAScreen8.jpg

BTW: It seems that there are several planets that have the black background color that makes them stand out from the dark blue deep space. (Like in screenshot7)

I've tested Battle 6 Mission 6 i can confirm the Backdrop error, it seems that the background of the Backdrop isn't transperant.
Also the Independece is a Medium Calamari Cruiser not the Home One-Class Calamari Cruiser like in all other missions she appeared in.
All other ships are what they are supposed to.

@ Frost, if you installed XWA into the Program or the Program(x86) folder, you may have a compatibility files tab in your XWA directory or in the subfolders.
Delete all files in compatibility files folders and reinstall XWA.

I installed to C:\Games\X-Wing Alliance
(Even did it two times. Saved my pilot file and placed it in the new install. Still the same ship swap problem)

I completed the game now :D Yay! Still had the Independence and Maria being Imperial cruisers from B6M6 up until the end mission. The class of Imperial cruisers can be seen in the screenshots (I/CRS and R/CRS). I guess they are custom made craft conflicting with the single player missions?

Just a thought, did you manually delete the XWA folder after every deinstall?

I just tried to un-install DSUCP and test the game. It works fine. Here are some pics:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/Battle6Mission6.jpg
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91867373/WhyAr ... nDSUCP.jpg
(While testing the game without DSUCP I noticed there were ejected pilots from destroyed fighters. I have not seen this all throughout the game while DSUCP was installed :? )

Installed DSUCP again and the problem returned. Plus I noticed this after DSUCP:

I can't answer why your getting these problems as my game is fine, the Independence is the Independence, no other craft are replaced by Imperial craft.

YOUR the only person to report these problems, I have looked into it, I have played the missions you mention, I've checked out all the text files, I've checked the XwingAlliance.exe to see if craft are pointing to other craft, I COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM!

The only possible explanation is that your version of the DSUCPv2.01.exe has become corrupt while downloading, but then again it SHOULD NOT install, is there any possible why you can upload your version of the DSUCPv2.01.exe to the web, so I can download it and check it out??

I haven't a clue why the ejected pilots aren't showing with the DSUCP installed, they haven't even been touched in the UCP
Darksaber wrote:I'd try reinstalling or redownloading the DSUCP
Ok you tried reinstalling the DSUCPv2.01

Have you try redownloading the DSUCP????

I've also fixed and updated the Planet.dat, which can downloaded separately from my site just below the DSUCP download link. just replace the existing Planet_XWAUP.dat file after installing the DSUCP

I will try redownloading DSUCP. And do a total new clean install. Is there other places than the game install dir that stores game data?

If your running Win7 x64 and then install XWA, you create a pilot file the pilot file is placed into your Windows user's virtual storage ("C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\X-Wing Alliance") this is due to the User Account Control, UAC.

But when first run and if found the DSUCP moves these files to your XWA installation dir.

There are no other folders beside your installation dir and the virtual folder (WIN7 and Vista x64 only) XWA copies files too

@ Dragon:

I've just been through all the installers that have the mission fixes in them (Ywing, SSD and the DSUCP) all B6M6 point to the Independence opt

Have you opened the mission in Allied? what opt is your Independence pointing too??

Strange..... just point it to the Independence and save

Was that the only mission??? and have you installed any other installers after installing the UCP, i.e. SSD or Ywing

Edit: Yes it is the only mission.

No I only ask as you know I've updated the installers, but I think the older installer for the SSD and the Ywing had the Independence as the Medium Mon Cal, but since the actual Home One Opt (Independence) was released I must have updated the missions in the new installers so the the Independences is actually the Home One.

I should add the the DSUCP already had the Independence set to the Independence as the Home One was released before the DSUCP was.

If you see what I mean, but that shouldn't have effected Frost's problem
