Thanks Dragon that's excellent new and on vista too, thanks again :)

Just a question regarding vista, when you installed the Mpeg.exe, did a message appear when you first run the installer

saying something like
Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec File Installation.

After reading this information and clicking 'OK' below, a message may popup stating that:-

blah blah blah.....
Don't worry if you didn't this should only appear if installed on a Win XP machine

Hmm.... that reminds me Bman was supposed to be testing a Win Xp machine :(

Hi DS, sorry worked late last night. Yes the MPEG.exe works fine on XP Pro 32-bit too. :-)

Side note: I renamed those 4 files before I uninstalled the K-Lite codec Mega Pack. Looks like K-Lite package also replaces some or all of those 4 files, so maybe there is an outdated version(s) vs. your MPEG.exe ones ?
Anyway, on XP platform it's a green light. Maybe someone out here as 64-bit version ?

Thank you so much Bman oh and Michal too, I really appreciate both your help :)

Bman that's interesting I'll have to check that out regarding K-lite, thanks

OK I think we can take it as green that everything is ok, I'm not going to worry too much about Win XP X64, if it installs on

XP 32 bit
Vista 32bit
Win 7 32bit
Win 7 64 bit

I think it will be ok now :)

ALL TESTS DONE, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT PARTICIPATED IN HELPING :)
Those that didn't sod you :) lol only joking

I'm going to take the links down now :) Thanks

Just tested another bunch of new crafts from the UCP v2.
The J-Type Diplomatic Barge also crashes the game when hit.

Yeah already knew about that, but thanks

I've also been through all the craft, there shouldn't be a problem in the next release (fingers crossed) :)

I did the stupid thing of running all the older craft (pre 2011) through XWA Opter maybe for a second time with some, I thought I was trying to improve the craft but infact I was making them worse, don't worry though I've replaced all with there originals.

I've also been through all the wave files in

SFX
Fe_High_Res
Fe_Low_Res folders

And found that they where amplified and some to the extent that they became annoying and grating, so I've been through them and reduce the amplification, I've also replaced some with what I think are more suitable sounds. So hopefully there won't be any need to reduce your volume :)

Hi Bman,

I was curious if K-Lite installed exact same file or updated versions of these

MSAud32.acm
MPG4ds32.ax
MSAdds32.ax
MPG4c32.dll

deleted the 4 files from my SysWOW64 folder checking if there was any duplicate files in the System32 folder, then installed K-Lite, and looked for the exact same named files, I couldn't find them. I admit K-Lite installs some sort of MPEG v4 codec file but without knowing the exact name I can't replace the 4 files I now know work, I was hoping to replace the files I have with some updated versions. but I can't.

I want the UCPv2.0 to be an all in one package, so those people that don't install any codec packs the UCP will do it for them so they can play XWA without a problem.

Basically it's so people don't have to start download loads of other stuff to install on there machines, just to play xwa with some updated stuff :)

I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional, because I loved the ship pack you uploaded and I cannot bring myself to uninstall it, but when I fired the guns on an x-wing the WUMP WUMP WUMP WUMP sound didn't play, instead a sound more suited for a capitol ship played. It sounded more like a THOOM THOOM THOOM THOOM. Other than that, your craft pack is amazing! I can't wait for re-release. Thank you Darksaber! :)

Hey DS, it was these...
MSAud32.acm
MPG4ds32.ax
MSAdds32.ax
MPG4c32.dll

What I did was manually renamed those files to something else so system couldn't use them. Then I Uninstalled the K-Lite codec Mega pack (for Win 32). It gave an error message something like a "error: broken link or file not found" and gave the full path to those exact file names + maybe one more. So that tells me K-Lite wanted to uninstall those or maybe replace with an original backup files somewhere. Only thing I can do is maybe check the version or file date on these. I'll have reinstall K-lite again. Both worked either way for me. :-)

Thanks for bringing the WUMP WUMP WUMP WUMP's back! :D That is the only thing that I missed, everything else exceeded my expectations! Especially the new sounds. I loved the quick snappy flak explosions and the new Tie fighter flybys and even the tie lasers have that high pitched squeky sound that trails off after the guns stop firing.
I was also overjoyed when I saw you found a slot for all those clone-wars era craft. I loved those, but it always felt like playing russian roullette when I wanted to install them, because they replace so many important ships. Although it was pretty funny in the campaign when admiral Ackbar was flying a seperatist destroyer against republic cruisers...
Anyways, Thank you very much for giving so much to the X-Wing Alliance community. I'm afraid there isn't any way we will ever be able to repay you for the hundreds of hours of time you have put into your work (besides donations)... :P
