Don't know if the rest of you saw this, but it was just reported a couple hours ago that Carrie Fisher suffered a major heart attack while traveling during the promotion of her book. Her son confirms that her condition has been upgraded from critical to stable.
2016 is the year that keeps on giving, ain't it?
Best wishes to Carrie and her family for the holiday season.

Yeah, read it last night. Best wishes to Carrie and, despite all the BS that this year had to offer, merry christmas!

Just so the news...
I was checking several sources in the hope that this could be an hoax...
The dark side is really strong in this year...
Farewell, Carrie, you will be with us, always...

It's not fare, and so sad, R.I.P. Carrie

I just came out from seeing Rogue One for the second time. There goes all my euphoria.
I'm feeling a mixture of sadness and anger. Sadness about this loss and anger about a totally fucked up year!
FFS! Prince, George Michael, now this. Can't 2016 just be over already?!?
RIP Carrie! You are now one with the Force!
At least you don't have to deal with all the bullcrap any longer!

Yeah, this year has been rough...
As Sax mentioned earlier, ANH's Red Leader actor (Drewe Henley) died earlier this year... And I read a small note about the actor who played the imperial officer at the first Death Star's hangar bay control room, right after the Falcon is captured, also died recently...

Not to mention Erik Bausersfeld (the voice of Admiral Ackbar) and Kenny Baker.

I almost never post here these days, my life has been exceptionally busy recently and this place hasn't crossed my mind in ages. I just wanted to talk about how upset I am by this. but I am not surprised. all these years of drug abuse can really take it's toll on a person. god rest her soul, may her family find peace.

I agree with General Trageton , I went to the bathroom to shave or trim my beard before going to see 'Rogue One' today... came into my bedroom, had the Flat screen on CNN and saw the breaking news story....all I said was 'oh shit!!'
This is a very bad year for the entertainment industry.

For people like me who grew up with the characters of Star Wars, a news like this affects a lot. I am very sorry for the death of a good person, intelligent and ironic. Selfishly, I'm sorry for the death of his character. Because I like to think that these characters live really, in small part within us, in large part in the actors who invented them. Thank you Princess!

A great loss. On top of being a great actress, she also seemed like an incredibly nice and smart person. Everytime I saw one of her interviews she was genuinely funny.
May the Force be with you, Princess.

The hits just keep on coming. Variety is now reporting that Debbie Reynolds has passed after a stroke she suffered earlier today while helping to arrange Carrie's funeral.

I posted the obligatory RIP on Facebook and then just took a couple of days to pretend Carrie Fisher hadn't passed away.
This feels.. not real.
Carrie fisher was many things, Feminist Icon, brilliant writer and comic, Sex Symbol.
Now she's gone, and then a day later her mother passes away from a broken heart.
Yeah, this feels not real.

A petition on change.org is being run to convince Disney to make Leia an official Disney Princess in Carrie Fisher's memory.
I'd say yes, but ONLY if they don't stick her in one of those sparkly overly-glam'ed up sissy dresses they put them all in no matter how OOC it is (I'm looking at you, Mulan).
