Ok so we have walkers, a super star destroyer and an old Jedi Master.

So, what are the odds Rey's going to loose a limb?

Fun fact: Take that new design, reduce its width to about 6% and you got yourself a genuine SSD :D

Whats interesting, it that it isn't being called a 'Super Star Destroyer' just Star Destroyer.

TBH I always thought that designation was dumb as an 'official name'. A Nickname, sure, but not an actual military designation.

This is also the first First Order ship to actually be classified as a Star Destroyer, the Resurgent is a Battlecruiser and the Mandator is a Dreadnought.

For me, the Supremacy is more of a mobile naval base that can construct ships. Although 60km is a bit over the top, I actually like it.

The new Calamari Cruiser on the other hand, I absolutely adore. It looks like a more bulky MC90, which is my favorite of the Calamari Cruisers. It also makes a neat connection to Rogue One.

Agreed, that cruiser just screams MON CALAMARI! Love it.

Looks like the FO has TIE Bombers and regular ol' AT-ATs as well.

I have a feeling Crait will be at the end or near the end of the movie.

If they keep up the mirroring policy to the OT I'd rather guess it's somewhere earlier in the film.

They're not according to the Director/Writer of the movie himself at least.

I'm thinking its the PR/Marketing trying to drawl the parallels for familiarity.

I have a feeling they're going to subvert it in the actual movie.

Well so I hope, although I remember reading or hearing disney officials say they're actively going for a somewhat mirrored perspective to ESB.

Don't take my word for it but I'm fairly certain I read or heard it in an interview somewhere.

I'll be more than happy to find out Rey's not losing any limbs.

Disney isn't the one calling these shots though, LucasFilm is still in control of the story, Disney is hands off in that regard.

I remember reading that Kathleen Kennedy was very happy with what Rian is doing and he had a lot of free reign with TLJ's story and direction.

Also I just read he is the sole writer on TLJ, huh how did I miss that. There is probably some stuff he needs to put in for the next film though.

http://www.empireonline.com/movies/news ... -kylo-ren/

"We got the whole story of Palpatine’s rise to power in the prequels, but in the original films he's exactly what he needs to be, which is just ‘The Emperor’" Johnson tells Empire in the new October issue. "He's a dark force: the scary thing behind the thing. That was entirely how I approached Snoke. I wasn't interested in explaining where he came from or telling his history, except where it serves this story.”

So little or no backstory to Snoke in the film.

So the Resistance Bomber's name is 'B/SF-17'

its literally a space B-17

This looks like it is meant to be a successor to the Nebulon-B, but I don't like it. Too blocky.

This design is new, though the engines appear to be based off the Blockade Runner.

One thing's for sure, you can't accuse the movie of trying to play things safe like TFA did.

I personally loved it, but I can see it being divisive among fans.

Ok, had some time to reflect. I think if there's one word I'd use to describe it, it would be "Anticlimactic."

And I mean pretty much EVERY question and plot point was an anticlimax.

They also tried to cram far too many plot points into the movie, so a lot of things felt underdeveloped and rushed. I think it gave me whiplash.

After seeing the film, which I really enjoyed, I went to read many reviews on the internet. They are all positive, but the strange thing is that nobody agrees on what they liked and what not. Some have loved Poe, saying that he is the best character, others have called it useless. Some appreciated the evolution of Kylo Ren, others said it got worse. Some have enjoyed humor, others say it is excessive. Some have praised Daisy Ridley's interpretation above all others, others say she is the less committed actress. And many other things, all mixed together, to make a final judgment always positive.
It's Star Wars...but I think this film is very original, and that critics are no longer used to that.

I agree with all the positive reviews I have reported above. It's a good movie in the best aspects.
One of the best qualities of the film is to be able to justify the stupidities shown by JJ in the previous film.

My only negative criticism: too many characters. Many are inherited from the previous film, and in this they prove once again to be useless, because they were badly created from the beginning.

GOOD JOB RIAN!

Gonna see it on Sunday, really looking forward to it.
I did check some reviews, staying clear of anything close to spoilers, I get the feeling the overal opinion is „great, but....“, at which point the critics start to become diffuse. Curious to see what impression it‘ll leave on me, being one of the few people to think TFA wasn‘t all bad. Then again, I consider myself easy to entertain.

2 days to go....
