Uhm... could someone maybe try posting a pic with a wee bit more light? I am sure the new textures look great, but unfortunately you can barely see anything

Look at that detail! Wow, Gank that is great. That's the power of higher true-color textures... vs. old 256 color limitations. Just scratched the surface. Advantages... more shades of any color are now available and higher detailed resolutions. And even with limitations of mesh counts and faces, these 32-bit bitmaps can make up for lack of that. Lighting/color effects, photo realistic planets/atmospheres... the sky is the limit. Great start.

Its not my model, its the XWAU model which was converted from Star Wars Galaxies. I just replaced the converted 256^2 8 bit textures with the original large 1024^2 32bit textures from galaxies

Dang, that frigate's looking fine! That was always one of my favorite ships in the Rebel fleet, can't wait until it's for its official release.

Edit: Removed steps since Jeremy's Opting Tool now incorporates texturing conversion tool.

Is there still a link to the swg textures somewhere? or a link to the superDAT thing?
Cheers

No, there is no link to textures themselves. But the superDAT file is DTM's work and it's part of the XWAUP and DSUCP as optional items you can install. I would assume you already have it.
Here is an enhanced version of Gank's model he listed above, with fully working turrents and four super long range cannons added. I've marked the areas in red that now have all turbolasers. Short, mid-range, and long range lasers.

I must have missed that option when I installed.
Thanks for that. I found a copy of swg with lightspeed add-on and stumbled upon the original textures.
