Bump. I know I know. Sorry.
Just surprised no one else has opined on this and Battlefront was basically my childhood/early teen years so I thought I'd make an exception and give my two cents.

Personally, I'm excited that DICE will be handling the new Battlefront. Looking forward to weapon customization and destructible environments (I hope). Given the probable release date, I'd be interested to see if they include anything related to Episode VII (Maps, weapons, vehicles, characters, etc). I'm hoping space battles return in some form. To be honest I could do without the heroes though. It wasn't that they were too OP or anything in Battlefront II, they just kinda turned matches into cheesy "oh crap everyone gang up on the jedi/sith" fests.

That's about it. Once again, sorry for the bump.

Hey Tony,

I'm not a huge gamer and never heard of Origin before.

Is that a problem? I know more than a few people who have a love hate relationship with Steam. I have a few of their games and it can be cumbersome at times.

Well, imagine a (much) worse version of Steam and you have Origin.

As for the game, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed by the fact that it'll only have 4 (5 with DLC) planets to fight on. I can live with the fact there won't be a campaign because the campaigns in the previous Battlefronts were rather average, but no bot support and no instant action is a bit meh.

Let me start out and say this, I havenever played battlefront II so I dont really know where my stance on this is but from what I have heard here is my opinion

EA screwed up bigtime
No space battles
No Land to space battles
AT ATs non controllable
Only 4-5 planets verry few maps

No story campaign
around $60 bucks

Im sorry I just cant deal with this right now. Somebody screwed up huge

The bots in Battlefront 2 had pretty horrific AI, but at least it was something to pad out games where you only wanted to play with friends. To this day, I'll still occasionally play it with my sons... load up a big map with a bunch of bots and just have fun mowing down stormtroopers. I was going to pass initially on the reboot anyways, just because I am never in a rush anymore to buy new releases... more than happy to wait a year and get games for $30... But if this is online only through Origin, then I'll be passing permanently.

There are going to be offline missions, but the game is being published by EA, so Origin is a given.

I don't see what is wrong with origin though. I only run it if i'm playing a game, other wise I have it closed.

I´m not surprised there won't be official modding tools but I really despise a comment I read where the guy essentially says fans won't have them not to screw the game's Star Wars essence... :/

Sorry if this is a bad bump, Thought it was an appropriate thread since it was still on page 1.

It sure is a pretty game (I took these)
