Dynamic cockpits are not working properly.
I can't see any informations and anything in cockpit, only in old huds.

Does this happen with all cockpits or just with the X-Wing?

Open Dynamic_Cockpit.cfg in your XWA install directory and check that you have the following:

dynamic_cockpit_enabled = 1

The dynamic cockpits work by copying the HUD into the cockpit displays. If you turn off the HUD, the displays will go blank. One way to check is by going into external view and just checking that the HUD is visible.

Did you perhaps rename the OPT of the cockpit?

You can also try reinstalling these cockpits with the official installer.

I can see data in old HUD, but not in a cockpit. I reinstalled the dynamic cockpits and it's still not working. I also have this option enabled in Dynamic_Cockpit.cfg

I reinstalled whole game and it's working now.

Downloaded and installed all upgrade files (I think) Including the RebelDynamicCockpits_v2.1 - It installs a DynamicCockpit Folder to the X-Wing Alliance folder, but has not installed the Dynamic_Cockpit.cfg file to the main folder. Tried re-installing a few times including a reboot, but with no success.... Any ideas please :)

The Dynamic_Cockpit.cfg file is part of the Effects by BlueMax package.

I'm finding that after I exit the game and then go back in, I've lost the Blue Max Effects and the Dynamic Cockpits. If I run the installer again it seems to fix the issue but then it drops it again after I exit and re-enter the game. It's like the effects package isn't sticking.

Thoughts?

Is it possible that Steam is trying to “fix” the game after the installer has modified it? Are you running the game through Steam?

Ahh - yes I am running the game through Steam. Any suggestions as to how I can stop this "fix"?

IIRC, the Steam version of XWingAlliance.exe does not support XWAUP, so the first thing the XWAUP installer does is replace the executable with a vanilla one. Try to reinstall everything, then once everything is installed, use the launcher (Alliance.exe) once to create/select a pilot, and from that point, launch the game by running XWingAlliance.exe directly, not from Steam. I think it’d be wise to disable automatic updates for XWA in Steam as well.

The short version is: once XWAUP is installed, do not let Steam touch it again.

Actually...when I say I run the game through Steam, I meant to say that I have the Steam version but I don't actually go into the Steam app on my laptop. I use the desktop shortcuts the XWAUP places on my desktop.

I played around with things yesterday (here in Australia) and it seemed to settle down for me (ie. the effects worked each time I re-entered the game). I did notice the Calamari cruiser lighting seemed to glitch a little but that was it.
