Joystick Problem

After installing a new upgrade, the throttle used for acceleration is responsible for turning. When I changed the values to the joystick configuration, my effect was to stabilize my flight, but I lost the ability to set the speed. So I need a fix for this problem for dummies[/b ]. I have a 3-axis joystick and 4 buttons, plus a throttle lever.

Open the Joystick Configurator in the Launcher.
You can setup options there and create saved profile files.
If that doesn't work post a screenshot of how you have that file setup and then maybe @JeremyaFr can help if necessary.

I have tried changing the controller settings in many combinations, the only result I will get is that the ship is not spinning anymore, but I still cannot accelerate or slow down my ship.

Can you post a screenshot of the “System Controllers” tab, just to make sure?

The stick should be detected as four axes if it had both rudder via joystick twist and throttle lever.
Which model is it exactly?
Have you tried numbering the axes from 1 and on instead of starting from 0?
Also keep in mind that classic sticks usually went X, Y (pitch), Z (throttle lever or slider) and R (twist). Back in the day the most common sticks only had X and Y, later Z became common and last came R so usually they are detected in that order by old games so you should probably try and number them in that order.

It's a SAITEK ST200. In the pre-upgrade version, the joystick works normally

What a coincidence! That was my old stick, so it's just a three axes stick with four buttons.
Try disabling the rudder in the in-game options menu, there should be an option to do it. It's possible that with the update the game is forcing a rudder on a stick that doesn't have one and that's why you are having issues.

I did as you wrote, it almost fixed the problem, because the ship still did not accelerate, but additionally in the joistick configuration I checked the option "Use the POV as regullar buttons" and everything works as it should. Thanks to everyone for the ideas.

If it's anything like my old Saitek ST200 it's probably for the best, after a while the throttle lever started to lose its calibration and it drove me insane at times. I usually tried to leave it in a position stable enough not to interfere and used keyboard shortcuts.Bipepeh wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 3:18 amI did as you wrote, it almost fixed the problem, because the ship still did not accelerate, but additionally in the joistick configuration I checked the option "Use the POV as regullar buttons" and everything works as it should. To be fair though, mine was bought together with either the first Freespace and I ditched it in 2015 when the centering mechanism started getting too difficult to work with.
