There are various Counters out there for Websites. I use one. What I want to know is:<P>Can you set a counter that will track a particular file?<P>For instance, can I set one so I can see how many people have downloaded one of my zip files?<BR>Answers on a postcard please or more preferably post here!

Try downloading a file from them and they have a page that u stop at for 2 seconds and then it counts the download.

I can do something like this in ASP, what basically happens is, when the user clicks on the link, it goes to a page saying "This download will start soon etc..", but in the background which you will never see is some code that goes and adds 1 to the counter in a database.

I think scripting is the only easy way, unless you try using a webcounter to count how many times the file's URL is requested

Or zips. or have you got to have loads of counters registered.<BR>Thanks for everyones advice so far. <p>[ 29 March 2003: Message edited by: Ace Antilles ]
