Target reticle/square color bug.

Left eye has target visible through cockpit and adds different colors to it.
Example, Container is green and ship is red.

Yes, the map has always been broken in VR.

Thanks for the repro information. Someone else had already reported this, but I couldn't see the problem on my end. Will try again.

Yes, I recently noticed that the holograms are not showing in VR. I'm investigating why. In the meantime you can try pressing D to bring up the regular HUD.

I don't know if that will work. The hooks in V4 may be a little outdated, but you can try -- just make a backup copy of ddraw.dll and HookCockpitlook.dll before installing this.

Lots of crashes on close explosions with ddraw from 2022/03/12 and 2022/03/22.

Performance with ddraw 2022/03/22 (more or less the same as any ddraw 2.0 I've tested so far):
I have resolution to 40% of 74% in steamvr :irre: wich means 1700x1700 per eye to have max GPU use and almost constant 60fps in mission TFTC Classic Battle 1, Mission 5: "Attack Rebel Light Cruiser"

Unfortunately, MAR 22 release is not working well for me... All the menus and briefing are much more stable, but once inside the cockpit I can only see a flickering starfield, while the monitor image is good (one eye only).

Any idea? Thanks.

Try removing the pose_corrected_headtracking parameter from CockpitLook.cfg

Try adding

pose_corrected_headtracking = 0

To your cockpitlook.cfg

That did the trick! Thank you for getting rid of the flickering loading screen. I can also confirm that the hangar view now has 6DOF. I appreciate it.

Two minor things remain:
- I don't get the "immersive" HUD in the hangar.
- When the camera changes to third person in the hangar, the space station rotates when I move my head.

Edit: Turret tracking works fine. Error was copying wrong ddraw.dll.

In my case with ddraw-2.0-Mar-12-2022 turret definitely doesn't work.

Looks like I found the menu! It's somewhere in my back.

Moving Shadow:
At the start it's also visible the shadow moving with head over well known ship which I don't remember the name mentioned earlier.

Turret:
My monitor works while in turret but HMD does not.
I can change between turret and cockpit, cockpit works as usual.

Just checking since this might be a typo: turret head tracking was enabled on March 22. Can you check that you're running the latest version when checking tracking in the turret?

I think that in the turret you are seated on a seat. The scale of the seat seems suitable only for Yoda.
-Sound balance does not look well t= 01:20s. Looks like pointing up "moves" sound to the right and pointing down to the left.

I have a new video wich shows different small issues or not that do not break gameplay at all. Video proportion something like 2,21:1

-blinding stars t=00:34s : they don't blind you when looking straight to them but looking above them.
-Sky in hangar mode moves funny t=00:46s : in the starting Hangar view sky moves fine, when I change to any of the external cameras it becomes strange. Shadows or lighting is also moving with head. More vissible with HMD than with the video.
At t=01:23 I return to start view pressing arrow keys and then center view wit ",". There, sky moves right again.
-Reticle size changes with look height t=01:45s: i can't apreciate it in the video.

That's a known bug that we were not able to fix yet. I'm working on it.
To avoid it, you need to make sure the HMD is centered and balanced (zero roll rotation) at the beginning of the mission.

i´ve installed the enhanced GPU support as it is recommended and the speedup is superb but i have always a crash after a mission. In the hangar i choose "Debriefing" and game crashes after 3 seconds.

Any ideas ? I´ve updated some hooks with the xwahook_setup-tool, but not every hook - before activating the enhanced support the game´s working fine, so i did not install all the newest hooks.

My system: Win 7 Pro 64bit, AMD CPU Phenom II X4, AMD R9 270X (latest available driver), CH-Fighterstick / Throttle

Other than trying an older version of ddraw (see the first post of this thread), I don't think you can try anything else at the moment. Does this happen with skirmish missions too? If I have to complete a full mission to see this crash, then this might take a while to figure out.

Can you post a crash dump of this problem? Go to %localappdata%\crashdumps and find something that looks like "XwingAlliance.dmp" with a date and time that matches your crash. If you post that, it will help us a lot figure this out.

unfortunately i can not reproduce this, because meanwhile i updated all hooks to newest versions :kopfwand:
And now ... game crashes (not reproducable) while flying a mission - for testing i choosed the flight simulation singleplayer mission 1/2

Ok - i tried to deactivate the ddraw speedup (restoring the old files), but on starting a mission i got a white screen in hangar and the music stottered.
Then i tried the older ddraw.dll from the first post with activated speedup - flying is possible without crash, but in hangar / go to briefing: crash

I recognized music loop (crashed music) in mission (with the newest music hook and xaudio2_9 redist and checking the ddraw.cfg process affinity core = 0) - maybe this will cause the crashes ?
I try to set music to off in game (if this is possible and the music is really deactivated) and will check.

Did you remember to change back the config value in hooks.ini?
With ddraw "1.x" (no 3D renderer hook) you need to have IsHookD3DEnabled = 1

Ok, starry field fixed... Now to some other snags:
1. Runs VERY smooth at the beginning, after a while it gets sensibly choppier (still playable) with no extra entities in game (ie more ships).
2. Frequent SteamVR crashes after a few minutes, then game continues running in 2D. How can I produce a useful log for you to troubleshoot??
