I am using clean gog version + XWAU2020.exe + TFTC1.3.
no error at all when installing all of this.

But, when configuring vr with babu frik after installing, I always get this same error again and again.
Please let me know what is wrong here.
Thanks.

Are you actually using TFTC because if you are that's the wrong Babu Frik?
It should show the TFTC logo

Please can you post a screenshot of the selected settings in the Special Effects section.
So the options selected before it carries on. Thanks

thanks for the reply Ace.

cmiiaw, yes I install first clean gog, then xwau2020.exe, finally TFTC1,3.
the TFTC logo is not there, because you have to use Palpatine converter to switch to the dark side (TFTC).
and I am still on the light side (XWA).

and I am using all the default options (customize the special effects), except for head tracking, I choose steamvr.

btw, do you notice the directory of the first line of the error:
E:\pcvr\star wars - x-wing alliance\FlightModels\Configurator\XwingSpyderDynamicCockpit\XwingCockpit.opt

I have checked my xwa installation directory, and for that file, it should be:
E:\pcvr\Star Wars - X-Wing Alliance\FlightModels\Configurator\Xwing\XwingCockpit.opt

so something is indeed very wrong here.

Yes there is a bug that has happened with the TFTC installs.
From what you have just told me it's the installation that causes the issue.

Try converting to TFTC classic and then back to the light side.

I have already taken steps to prevent this in a TFTC patch and later XWAU release.
But it's very complicated for the existing install

I believe there is some error in the TFTC v1.3 install that messes things up somewhere.

Put these files into the main XWA folder. So they replace the ones in the TotalConvertor folder.
Hopefully that will fix the issue.

I have converted to tftc classic, and yes, the error disappears.
I have not tested switching to the light side again.

thanks for the fix, Ace.
I will extract it to xwa folder.
