Just wondering, now that people are doing such wonderful things with the game, could it be possible to remove the targetting reticule in the middle of the screen?
I'm asking because I always wanted the game to be more like the film, where you need the ship's computer to do some of the aiming for you. In ANH, you see both rebel and imperial fighters tail enemy fighters while the computer tries to lock on, and once the target is "fixed", the cannons aligned so that the laser bolts killed the target quickly once you fired.
I'm not asking for all of that in XWA, obviously (though it would be awesome, of course), or even the targeting monitor you had in the original X-Wing game, but it'd be nice if the target reticule was removed, and you had to do more of the aiming yourself. The little blips showing which cannon/warhead launcher will fire next is strictly speaking not that important to gameplay, and you'd still have that audio cue for when you're aiming correctly.
Removing the target reticule?
