Fly Casual is a fairly interesting table top game, I can see using something like this for crusade.

Based on final fantasy flights rules for tabletop X-wing 2.0 game, it would certainly be user friendly to get games going, you would probably be able to tap into the fairly large Xwing tabletop community.
I myself sadly have yet to update my collection to 2.0, but my 1.0 collection is pretty large. I'd definitely reccomend taking a look at the Heroes of the Autari cluster single player cooperative campaign for 1.0, that has partially been updated to 2.0, there is a large facebook group and is the single largest fan developed module for the game, the creator last I heard was hired by ffg to develop a game for them but I forget which one.

After messing around with this for a couple of hours (downloaded Unity, went through basic tutorial, looked over source data from GitHub for the X-wing game), I agree, very promising
