R-22 A-Wing Fighter: This is a brand new release from starship Opt creator @DTM of MTD Industries.
He has kindly allowed me to host it on The X-Wing Outpost and it's finally the first item on my Starships page.

This ship comes with the latest new XWA features. Animated Cockpit Damage effects, Cockpit Shadow Mapping, Animations and Dynamic Cockpit.
The detail of the damaged cockpit is one of the best so far and the spinning radar animations are brilliant.

There are base, cockpit and exterior opts all with high quality textures.
The ship has 4 different flightgroup colour choices and will show the correct icons in the map and Hud too.

The download will contain all the necessary files for the ship. You have the choice for an automatic install to a specific slot, or extract extra files to the MODS folder to perform a manual installation using the MXvTED shp file system.

I thought with the new install system that these would get rolled up in the update patches, and that we shouldn't download ships individually anymore. Is this correct? great work btw

This only applies to XWAU craft replacing the vanilla models.
Custom addon craft like this one are not part of the XWAU Mega Patch and are as such available separately.

You extract the installer from the zip file.
Run it and follow the instructions. It will automatically add it to the game as a custom craft.
It doesn't replace the standard Awing
