Trouble with VR

Hi

i have 2 Installs in 2 diretorys.
1.) XWA 5.5 works with no Problems without VR
2.) XWA TFT 1.3.2 Works with no Problems without VR.

ok now i enable VR-Mode

XWA 5.5 starts, Briefeing is ok, i enter the Hangar and start the Ship in VR, Leav the Hangar and the VR Screen gets black and Steam VR crashes on my PC Monitor i see still the game !
XWA TFT 1.3.2 Start, Briefing is ok when i click enter the Hanger Steam VR crashes!

How do you enable VR mode? With Babu Frik's configurator?
Do other SteamVR games work fine?
Have you tried launching SteamVR independently, and then the game, both without starting Steam?

Like m0rgg said, we're going to need a little more details. If you can post a crash dump file (they are located in your XWA directory and look like "xwingallianceXXX.dmp"), we could also take a look.

Another thing you can try is using the latest ddraw beta from the Downloads page and the latest hooks. There's been some recent problems with TgSmush.dll, but it should be working on the latest versions.

Yes other SteamVR games run without problem.
I Enabled it by hand not with babu Frik. As i said it starts but crashes.
I tried it by starting XWA and steam is started automatically and i tried to start steam first both the same result.

I will download now the new DDraw and give it a try.

Ok here the news:
I use EffectsByBlueMax2_beta_v2022-12-09
and updated the hooks.
Started XWA the mission attack of the Death Star.
Hangar ok
Start ok
Hyperjump ok.
The ties come in ok
but then steam crashed my Vr glasses are black but the game is still running on the Monitor and i can play but not on steam.
So i habe no Dump File from XWA

Try enabling VR from Babu Frik, maybe there's a chance you forgot something. If you don't see .dmp files in you XWA install dir, try looking in %localappdata%\crashdumps

Other things to check: make sure you only have one ddraw.dll and one Hook_CockpitLook.dll file in your XWA directory. If you have made backups by renaming the file but not the extension (for instance, if you have a file called "ddraw1.dll") that may cause problems.

Have you tried doing a clean install to see if that works?

It's strange, that's your SteamVR crashing... Not XWA
Have you tried re-installing SteamVR?
Are you using the SteamVR beta version?

Ok now i configured VR with babufrik but the result was the same.
leaving the hangar, jumping to lightspeed, flying for ca. 30 secunds and steam crashes.
The game is still running.
Other VR games like Alien Isolation, Beatsaber are working without problem !
i have steam VR 1.24.6

Now i've tested StarWars Squadrons and it works without problem.
I Think i have to delet XWA and install it again
