I have included front side panels and rear door as well.
I would like to add illumination to the front panel, so if anybody can direct me to a tutorial or just give me some pointers it would be most appreciated.

Your timing is amazing. I am working on improvements to the cockpit this VERY moment :D

There has been a number of things going on with the YT but none are quite ready for release.
So I will just leave with this teaser for now ;)

Wow! That looks amazing. We are obviously operating at the same frequency. :D Does that include an exterior re-texture and any idea on a release date?

There's a couple of improvements but not on the scale you might like.
But it will include flightgroup colours, working landing gear and ramp.

No release date right now as still some bugs to work out. Not soon though sadly

I'm considering doing an exterior re-texture using some images off the net. This is what I did today:

I will need to edit out the shadows, or maybe leave them, see how it pans out. I haven't tested it in game yet.

I was experimenting with cockpit lighting on my textures this morning with some weird results. :D Some areas are only partially illuminated :help: .

I'm currently using high anti-aliasing and low sharpening settings to reduce shimmering on station objects so textures are a bit blurry.

Great job on cockpits. I really like the reduced colored lights too. In the past, various ship cockpits had way too many different colored lights--all around--like a lit up christmas tree. Distracting. These layouts look more realistic to film. :-)

My cockpit panel texture is just an interim texture that I will use in the campaign until 'Ace' releases his work. I'm messing around with the Optech program which will hopefully fix the patchy illuminated areas. Whatever happens, I will upload whatever I've done as it will have some illumination and should look better than the old low res textures.

Just to be clear this isn't my project as such.

The opt work was done by Master Qui-Gon.
New textures were by Prime.
Ual002 has given some figure models.
I'm doing extra tidy up and adding finishing touches.

Okaay! Figured out the Optech illumination process, great tool. This is my final front panel texture rework. It's hard not to get carried away :

I will add my rear panel texture after some illumination work in gimp and the optech. This is more fun than I expected it to be. :D

edit: Still some cleaning up to do on the texture as I look at the screenie.

I'm leaving the rear panel as it is. I may muck about with it later when I have time.
