I can't read the text on my targeting HUD

On my targeting HUD at the lower center of the screen, the text is a lot smaller and more indistinct than it was in the original version. Compare these two screenshots from online:

Even at a much smaller image size, the 1995 TIE Fighter readout is readable at a glance. The XWAU version is much more difficult for me to see, even at 1440x900 on my 19" monitor. If I have to concentrate to read it, I have to take my eyes off the fight and get shot. Is there any way I can change the text to make it larger?

Hi, press SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+Left or Right arrow keys to adjust the POV to larger or smaller. Alternatively, switch to the classic XWA UI by pressing D.
