Hangar craft textures corrupted

Hi all. Just wondered if anyone has come across this problem with textures in the hangar?

Seems to have started since I installed the custom backdrops. Am running XWAU CD version in Windows XP 32 bit, gfx card is Radeon HD 6850.

It has nothing to do with the Backdrops, it's just an anomaly of the Hangar in some missions, test the next mission, it might be ok or it might show a different texture, in the actual mission the textures will be fine, it's just an odd occurrence that we're not sure how to cure, if at all possible.

If I remember correctly, somebody on this forum suggested that the total number of unique textures and/or opts in a mission causes this bug.

Could someone indicate a simple way to reproduce this issue?
From a vanilla xwa, what are the upgraded crafts installed, patches applied, and what mission is run.

Looks like he has the XWAUCP1.0.exe and DTMSBv1.0.exe installed, but I've known it happen without the backdrops

I only found one mission so far and that is Joining the Rebellion - Mission 1: Deep Space Strike Evaluation it only happens on the droids in the hangar, plus it only ever happens in the hangars, once you start the mission the craft textures are fine.

With XWA + XWAUCP 1.0 + DTMSB 1.0, the problem I see in the hangar is the triangling issue.

Does it also happens with the triangling fix?

  • battle 1, mission 4
  • battle 1, mission 5
  • battle 1, mission 6
  • battle 4, mission 1

  • battle 6, mission 6
  • battle 6, mission 7

When there are more than 1624 textures, the game outputs "Not enough D3DTextures" and uses the last created texture. A fix to remove this limit will be soon available.

Jeremy, this is awesome if you can remove the texture limit. Another major break through. This has been discussed on mulitple threads in the past. The last one here... viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11014
The "1624" textures limit explains the 20 - 25 different unique opt models limit in any given region (perhaps including hangar models?) before textures become corrupt. The more different models used, the worse the problem got.

Wow, merci beaucoup Jérémy! And thanks also to DS for identifying the problem. Indeed it was just the Rescue Echo Base Prisoners mission (Battle 1 Mission 4) that was causing this. To be honest I'd have been happy enough just to find out it was limited to a few missions and I could tolerate that, but to have an actual fix is great!
